"Before the Heart Freezes" Chapter 11
Chapter 13
The office.
Dominic irritably tugged at his tie.
Just then, news arrived from the people he had sent out to search.
His assistant placed a stack of documents and a USB drive in front of him.
"Mr. Dominic, we've found information on the Madam... She flew abroad on the very day you two registered the divorce. We could only track her as far as Country A, after which her trail goes cold. As for your mother-in-law, she was transferred out of the country much earlier."
The assistant’s voice grew fainter and fainter, his head hanging so low he almost buried it in his chest, not daring to meet Dominic’s eyes.
As soon as he finished, a deathly, terrifying silence filled the room.
Dominic’s face remained expressionless, but his hand gripped the documents with such force that the entire stack was crumpled into a ball.
A raging fire gathered in his deep, dark eyes, on the verge of erupting.
Forcefully suppressing his fury, he flipped through the documents in an act of self-torture.
The text, supplemented by photographs, detailed exactly how Adeline had systematically sold off her jewelry and liquidated all her assets.
She was truly determined to leave him.
But Dominic could not accept it!
"Find her! Keep looking! As long as she is still breathing, she belongs to me!"
His eyes were filled with pure obsession; it was the first time the assistant had ever seen him in such a state.
The assistant summoned his courage. "Mr. Dominic, you and the Madam are already divorced, and you’ve already held a wedding with Miss Bianca. Why persist like this and refuse to let go?"
"The Madam could never accept you loving someone else, not to mention Miss Bianca is pregnant. Even if you find the Madam, she won't come back. Besides..."
The assistant hesitated. Dominic twisted the ring on his finger. "If you have something to say, say it."
"There is a file and a video here. You should take a look. Miss Bianca is not as gentle or sensible as you think."
Hearing this, Dominic’s face darkened instantly.
Dominic plugged the USB drive into his computer, his handsome face tense as he rapidly scanned the footage.
Countless clips of surveillance footage pieced together everything that had actually happened during those days.
Adeline had never stooped to bullying Bianca; instead, every single instance was Bianca’s deliberate provocation and framing.
Dominic’s face turned as black as ink, a dangerous storm brewing in his eyes.
"Bring Bianca back here!" he roared.
His slender fingers clenched into fists, the joints making a sickening cracking sound, showing he had reached the absolute peak of his rage.
The assistant hurried out to intercept Bianca.
He found her still lingering by the elevator. When she saw him, her eyes lit up with an expectant glow. The assistant felt a surge of pure contempt.
He had always looked down on people like Bianca; he hadn't understood why Dominic liked her before, and he still didn't understand now.

In his eyes, Adeline was a thousand, ten thousand times better than her in every way, yet Dominic didn't know how to cherish her.
Perhaps once a man gets what he wants and grows bored, this is the result. He kept his judgments to himself.
Seeing the assistant approach, Bianca couldn't help but let her lips curl up, though she still squeezed out a few tears.
"Is Dominic asking me to go back? I don't want to go back to him anymore. Tell him I’m not coming back."
She gave a small huff and pouted, making a show of turning to leave.
The assistant blocked her path expressionlessly. "I'm sorry, but Mr. Dominic wants to see you. You can't leave."
With an air of undeniable authority, he forcibly led her back toward the office.
Bianca felt that something was wrong. A faint sense of unease stirred in her heart, though she couldn't pinpoint where it came from.
With a
thud
, the office door was shut and locked.
Dominic walked up to Bianca and grabbed her by the throat, his voice a sharp interrogation: "Where on earth did you get the courage to bully and frame Adeline like that? Did I give you too much face before!"
"Ugh! No... I didn't... it was Adeline..."
Bianca’s face turned bright red. she struggled against his hand, forced, broken syllables escaping her.
The air in her lungs grew thinner, and her vision began to darken. Just a moment before she would have suffocated to death, Dominic finally let go.
————————————
He tossed her onto the floor like a piece of trash, his eyes brimming with rage and hatred.
Having narrowly escaped death, Bianca gasped for air, tears rolling down her face uncontrollably. But this time, they failed to elicit even a shred of pity from Dominic.
She didn't know how much he had found out, so she continued her usual act of playing the victim.
She tugged at his trouser leg, her eyes red and her thin frame shivering, looking the picture of extreme grievance.
She spoke weakly: "Dominic... I really didn't do anything. It's all a misunderstanding. I can explain."
"Is Sister Adeline jealous and angry? I’ll apologize to her, okay? Can you please not treat me like this? I’m so scared..."
Dominic looked down at her coldly, a sense of self-mockery rising in his heart.
Was he really played like a fool by such a woman?
How pathetic!
His face remained a mask of indifference as he kicked her away.
"Get out! Don't touch me. You make me sick!"
"Assistant Zhang, however Bianca framed Adeline and made her suffer—make her pay it back ten times over!"
"Start by giving her a hundred slaps. You do it!"
Dominic’s heartless words fell on Bianca’s ears. She slumped onto the floor, her mind spinning with only one thought:
He knows everything. He’s going to get revenge for Adeline!
Despair filled her eyes as her pupils darted around, desperately searching for a way to save herself.
Seeing the assistant drawing closer, she kept backing away, shaking her head frantically.
"No... you can't do this to me. I’m still carrying your child..."
"I didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't my fault. Don't you love me? Anyway, you don't like Adeline anymore. Wasn't it good that I helped you drive her away?"
She screamed in panic.
Dominic almost laughed from sheer anger. He let out a cold sneer:
"Who said I don't like her? I love her. She is the person I love most in this world. You were nothing more than a toy!"
"Assistant Zhang, do it! Do I need to teach you how?!"
His chilling gaze swept over.
Assistant Zhang, terrified, immediately carried out the order, striking Bianca across the face with all his might.
The difference in strength between a man and a woman was natural. After just one slap, Bianca’s face swelled up instantly, and her fragile, piteous look vanished.
The blow sent her reeling against the wall, and genuine tears began to fall.
Losing her previous arrogance, she immediately began to beg in a low, humble voice: "Dominic, I know I was wrong. I truly know I was wrong. Please let me go, please? I can apologize to Sister Adeline."
"Stop hitting me! I’ll really die if you keep going! My face will be ruined!"
Bianca desperately used both hands to shield her cheeks, trying to curl herself into a ball.
Without an order from Dominic to stop, Assistant Zhang continued with a cold face.
He pulled her hands away and delivered another fierce blow.
Slap! Slap! ...

Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 45 -
