"Twice Bitten, Forever Yours: The CEO's Secret Guardian" Chapter 049
Chapter 049: Going to the Amusement Park
Inside the restaurant's private booth, Seraphina Pierce looked at the familiar furnishings, her heart filled with a myriad of emotions.
This was Solas's exclusive booth; she and Solas had come here many times in her past life. But coming here this time, her mood was different from any visit in the past.
There was sentimentality, but more so, a sense of profound relaxation.
Her heart wasn't as heavy as it had been back then.
"The menu is yours." Solas handed the menu to her. "You order; order whatever you'd like to eat."
Seraphina looked at him first, then her gaze fell on the menu he offered. She said with a smile, "It's my first time here, and you're more familiar with the place. Why don't you order? I'm fine with anything—I'm not a picky eater."
Solas stared at her for about half a minute before nodding and taking the menu back. "Alright."
He ordered several dishes according to the menu.
With every dish he ordered, Seraphina’s smile grew a bit brighter. Her mood was naturally a bit strange, but more than strange, she felt... happy.
He had indeed ordered all her favorite things.
In fact, more than ninety percent of the dishes on this menu suited her palate.
Neither of them were the type to be boisterous, and their upbringings both leaned toward the principle of "silence while eating and sleeping." During the meal, aside from an occasional sentence or two, they remained quiet.
The meal was finished in such a quiet and harmonious manner.
However, compared to usual, Solas’s eating pace was noticeably much slower this time.
Setting down her utensils, Seraphina pulled out a tissue to dab the corner of her mouth. Looking at Solas, she asked with a beaming smile, "Does Brother Solas have other matters to attend to today?"
Solas had been stalling, hesitating over what excuse to use to keep her around—or at least, to not send her back so early. But after all, this was the first day they had spent time together in such close proximity, and he feared showing too much eagerness would scare her off.
Just as he was wavering, she spoke up.
It was exactly what he wanted.
"No, I don't have anything urgent. I gave myself a day off." He answered a bit too quickly, appearing quite eager, as if afraid she might change her mind if he answered too slowly.
"Since Brother Solas isn't busy, and I see it's still early, why don't we find somewhere else to stroll? It just so happens I don't have much to do at home either."
Initially, she felt a bit awkward calling him "Brother Solas," but as she said it more, it started to roll off the tongue.
Though sometimes, she still felt a twinge of embarrassment.
Her soul was already quite old, yet here she was, calling someone "Brother" this and "Brother" that—it was truly sheepish. It was only because it was Solas; if it were anyone else, she wouldn't call them that even if it killed her.

"We can. Is there anywhere in particular you'd like to go?" Solas looked calm.
If it weren't for the fact that the look in his eyes was softer than usual and hidden with a trace of joy, one might mistake him for discussing official business.
"How about the amusement park? What do you think?" Seraphina hadn't chosen the place at random; she truly wanted to go.
Regardless of her past or present life, she wasn't a playful person by nature. Places like amusement parks were somewhere Mrs. Pierce had taken her when she was very small. As she got older, she never went back, no matter how tirelessly Mrs. Pierce told her how fun they were.
Once she grew older, almost all her time was spent on her studies and music.
Her talent was indeed great enough, and she was certainly smart enough, but to achieve her current success at such a young age, it would have been impossible without making sacrifices.
Even without the heavy memories of her past life, she hadn't really played at an amusement park, let alone during her later years in the previous life.
She wanted to go to the amusement park simply to let herself relax.
Ever since her rebirth, she had been living a bit heavily.
However, relaxation was only one reason. The most important reason was that on her thirtieth birthday in her past life, Solas wanted to take her to the amusement park. She hadn't agreed, and a few days later, Solas met with an accident and passed away.
This was something she regretted immensely every time she thought of it during the subsequent twenty years of her life.
She still remembered when Solas celebrated her birthday and said he wanted to take her to the amusement park; his eyes seemed to sparkle with stars, yet the light in them instantly dimmed after she refused.
She hadn't paid much attention at the time, which is why she regretted it so much in the many years that followed.
Once she grew up, she was disciplined and not playful—and wasn't Solas the same?
But compared to Solas, she was much better off. At least she hadn't been sent to a strange city at the age of seventeen to live alone, unable to see her family for many years.
Later, when she went to the capital with Solas, she learned what kind of life he had lived there before being sent to Seahaven.
Solas’s childhood was even more monotonous and dull than hers.
Perhaps an amusement park was a place he had always wanted to go.
Regardless of whether that was true or not, at this moment, Seraphina simply really wanted to go to the amusement park with him.
Her suggestion surprised Solas a bit.
He had always thought she had a reserved and quiet temperament and wouldn't like crowded, noisy occasions...
Well, after these few hours together today, he had already discovered that his understanding of her was quite one-sided.

She actually had a playful and cute side as well.
A young girl should live vibrantly like this.
Given his personality, he really wasn't someone who would specifically go to an amusement park to play, but if she wanted to go, he would accompany her even through a mountain of swords or a sea of fire. A trace of pampering and indulgence was hidden in his shimmering eyes: "Alright."
Half an hour later, at the largest amusement park in Seahaven.
Owned by the Pierces.
After parking the car, the two went to line up for tickets.
They didn't use any special privileges; the two of them simply lined up like ordinary tourists.
It was a very fresh experience.
Choosing to line up wasn't anyone's specific suggestion; it was just that neither of them brought up the fact that they could use their status, so they naturally fell into line.
Both were somewhat famous figures. Although their fame wasn't as high as top-tier stars, and most who recognized them were people from certain social circles, there were still some ordinary people who knew them.
However, it wasn't a holiday, and it was a workday. Most of the people at the amusement park at this time were mothers with children or the elderly.
There were young people, of course, but not many. Plus, since no one expected Solas Sterling and Seraphina Pierce to come to an amusement park—let alone together—no one linked the two to them.
At most, people felt the two had high visual appeal and were very pleasing to the eye; some couldn't help but take a few photos with their phones.
With their keen senses, the two naturally noticed they were being photographed secretly.
But neither stopped it.
It wasn't as if they were doing anything shameful.
Moreover, both had their own little plans.
What was wrong with being photographed at an amusement park together? They wished that photos of the two in the same frame would spread—ideally making it onto the news headlines.
After buying tickets, the two entered the park.
"What project do you want to play first?" Solas asked Seraphina, holding the tickets.
Because of his height, he had to tilt his head down slightly.
With this tilt, the distance between the two became extremely close. His clear, crisp breath brushed directly against the side of Seraphina's face.
Seraphina's body stiffened slightly, but she didn't move away.
"The carousel."
Of course, Solas didn't ride the carousel. He stood outside watching Seraphina, very gallantly holding her bag for her.
The girl sat on the carousel, and every time she circled back to him, she would bloom a brilliant smile in his direction.
Throughout the process, the corners of Solas’s lips were turned up.
When the girl circled back to him for the fourth time, her lips moved as if she said something. But with the children's clamoring and the carousel music nearby, he didn't hear clearly.
He wanted to ask, but the carousel had already turned away.
He had a feeling the girl had said something important, so until the carousel stopped and she walked toward him, he couldn't let it go.
"Give me the bag."
Solas didn't give it back. "Let me hold it for you."
He saw other couples at the amusement park, and the boyfriends always held the bags for the girlfriends. If he held her bag, then in the eyes of others, they would look even more like a couple.
Seraphina didn't argue with him. The bag wasn't heavy; if he wanted to hold it, let him hold it.
"Sera, when you were on the carousel just now, did you say something to me?" After a moment of hesitation, Solas asked anyway.
That name, "Sera," made Seraphina’s heart skip a beat.
At the same time, her expression stiffened for a moment.
She indeed had spoken.
