"Twice Bitten, Forever Yours: The CEO's Secret Guardian" Chapter 054

Chapter 054: Solas Acts Spoiled

He was instantly stunned.

The man’s mind was full of filth, rejoicing that Seraphina had led him to this deserted place as he wished, making it easier for him to act. He never expected Seraphina would suddenly turn and strike so decisively.

For a moment, his head bled, and he felt dizzy.

But even under these circumstances, the man quickly reacted and struck at Seraphina. His vicious moves made Seraphina narrow her eyes.

Being able to react so quickly despite such a heavy injury—no wonder it required Frank Fu himself to act.

However, this man could not harm Seraphina in any way. There was no need for Seraphina to counter-attack; Frank had already stepped in to take over. All Seraphina needed to do was move aside inconspicuously and then block the path to prevent the man from taking the chance to flee.

Even with Frank acting, and with the man's head already heavily injured by Seraphina, it still took nearly ten minutes to subdue him.

After pinning him down, Frank’s men arrived.

"Boss!"

Frank threw the man to them, and they took him away.

The hallway became empty again, leaving only Seraphina and Frank.

Frank's scrutinizing gaze landed on Seraphina. "Miss, are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Thank you for just now."

"It was nothing. Actually, I should be the one thanking you for the help. If you hadn't quietly led him here so he had nowhere to run, and then suddenly struck to injure him, subduing him probably wouldn't have been so easy."

"It was a coincidence. If he hadn't moved against my friend, I wouldn't have meddled."

Frank didn't doubt her words.

He didn't think she had known about their operation beforehand and intentionally helped.

"Regardless, I must thank you. This saved us a lot of effort." Capturing him so quietly without alerting anyone was even more beneficial for their subsequent actions.

"However, it is dangerous for a lady to leave alone with a man whose strength is so much greater than hers. For things like today, it’s best if you do them less often in the future."

Seraphina gave a light laugh and took off her mask. "Thank you for the concern, Cousin Frank."

There was no harm in showing her face. It was a good opportunity to get to know Frank; perhaps there would be a chance to repay the favor from her past life in the future.

In any case, with Frank's sharp eyes, even if he didn't see her face, he would be able to recognize her by her outfit next time they met. It was better to reveal her identity generously now.

"...So it's Cousin Seraphina." Seeing her face, Frank recognized her.

Frank had gone to see Sera Fu’s performances, so he naturally knew what Seraphina—Sera's teammate—looked like.

The Pierce and Fu families indeed had a slight connection, though it was only distant.

Seraphina’s mother, Mrs. Pierce, was from the Shea family in the capital—a family of musicians—and Mrs. Pierce’s mother was from the Fu family as an adopted daughter. In terms of seniority, Mrs. Pierce’s mother (Seraphina’s grandmother) would be considered Frank’s grand-aunt, though there was no blood relation.

Since Mrs. Pierce married into Seahaven, she had rarely visited the Fu family.

If it weren't for the fact that Sera Fu was also in the Astral Orchestra, Frank might not have recognized Seraphina.

"It's so late. Why are you still in a place like this, Cousin? It’s not safe for a girl to be out alone so late." Frank wasn't someone who meddled, and based merely on this distant relative status, he wouldn't have said these words—he was thinking of Solas.

She was someone Solas cared about; since he had run into her, he couldn't just ignore it.

"A friend of mine went through a breakup, and I was worried, so I came to find her. I encountered someone trying to take advantage of her and intended to give him a lesson. Since he’s been dealt with, I should head back too. Since you’ve rarely come to Seahaven, Cousin Frank, if you're not busy, feel free to visit the Pierce residence."

Polite talk.

"I'll go if I have time. Do you need me to find someone to send you back?"

Seraphina shook her head with a smile. "No need, I drove here."

"Then I'll take my leave first." As Seraphina said this, she turned to leave.

After a few steps, she was called back by Frank: "Wait a moment."

"Is there something else, Cousin Frank?"

"Solas is in a private booth upstairs. He’s had too much to drink."

Seraphina’s faint smile suddenly changed. Although she recovered quickly, it was still caught by Frank.

Given her decisive nature in smashing a wine bottle over someone's head, she clearly wasn't some pure and harmless person. Solas obviously couldn't bear to let her go; since that was the case, why not help them out.

The rumors were indeed wrong; she was no delicate flower.

Encountering Solomon, she might not be able to handle it, but with Solas there—and given she herself wasn't someone who was cowardly or afraid of trouble—there shouldn't be too many problems.

Even if there were, the two could face them together.

Solas was always alone; even Frank felt a bit bad watching him like that for so long.

Consider this as him acting selfishly for his friend and pulling Seraphina into the fray.

"Then I'll go up and take a look."

Why did he get drunk out of the blue?

When they parted in the evening, he was clearly fine.

Did he run into his good friend Frank and couldn't help but drink more?

Solas wasn't that undisciplined, and moreover, Frank clearly had a mission. Solas was even less likely to get drunk at a time like this.

Dawn was his territory, and Frank was executing a mission on his territory; even if he didn't help, Solas would surely stay sober.

Did something happen?

Seraphina was indeed a bit worried.

Seeing her agree so readily, Frank was stunned, appearing a bit surprised.

He had heard something about his sister’s friend's temperament.

Agreeing so readily was a bit outside his expectations, but then he felt there was no reason to be surprised.

Solas had just said they had gone to the amusement park together this afternoon.

The Seraphina Pierce his sister spoke of was likely not someone who would easily go on a private date with a young man.

On the way upstairs, Seraphina received a call from the woman with heavy makeup. Only after Seraphina told her she had run into a friend and that the man had been dealt with did the woman feel at ease. At the same time, she invited Seraphina to meet in a few days, saying she intended to treat her to a meal as a token of thanks.

This was exactly what Seraphina wanted.

Her coming to Dawn late at night was originally for the purpose of finding her.

Jeanette Gu, twenty-five years old, professional manager. Besides this, Jeanette had another identity: a genius venture capitalist.

She said she would surpass Tyler Pierce and Fiona in their own fields, and she wasn't joking.

She had been taking this very seriously.

Frank pushed the door open first. Solas was still drinking glass after glass, refusing to be persuaded. Julian was worried to death.

Seeing Frank, it was like seeing a savior.

"Young Master Fu, Big Brother Fu, Lord Fu—you’re finally back! Quick, come and persuade him; I can't stop him at all. If he keeps drinking like this, he'll likely end up in the hospital..."

His voice suddenly cut off.

He saw the person who followed Frank inside.

Wearing a hat and a mask.

But her waist-length hair and excellent figure clearly marked her as a beauty.

"Wait, Young Master Fu, what's going on here?" Going out to handle business but bringing back a great beauty? So playboy-ish?

Cough, cough, cough

—no, being a playboy wasn't Frank’s character!

Just as Julian was in a state of suspicion, Solas—who was drinking while dazed—suddenly spoke: "Sera."

His voice was deep, his eyes shimmering. Perhaps because he was a bit drunk, his voice carried a faint hint of acting spoiled.
