"Twice Bitten, Forever Yours: The CEO's Secret Guardian" Chapter 055

Chapter 055: Solas is Drunk

Julian felt goosebumps erupt all over his skin.

This was definitely not the Young Master of the Sterling family he knew!

Furthermore, even with Miss Pierce fully "armored" in a hat and mask, Solas could recognize her at a single glance while intoxicated. It was undoubtedly true love!

Ignoring Julian, Seraphina let out a helpless, low sigh and walked toward Solas, reaching out to take the wine glass from his hand.

She leaned over slightly. Her loose hair slid down with the movement, brushing against the back of Solas’s hand—a faint, lingering caress.

"Why did you drink so much?"

"I accidentally had too much. It wasn't on purpose."

Solas leaned back against the sofa, looking up at her.

He was unexpectedly docile.

Seeing this, Seraphina’s heart softened.

"I’m not blaming you. I just want to know if something is bothering you."

Solas turned his face away. "No."

Liar.

She knew him too well. If she hadn't hit the mark, he wouldn't have averted his gaze, not daring to look her in the eye.

But truthfully, she had never seen Solas drunk before.

Even though they had lived together for so many years.

In her memory, Solas was always calm and self-controlled.

She hadn't expected him to be so well-behaved when drunk.

"There really isn't. Also, I'm not usually like this. I rarely drink, and I'm not this unreliable. I'm very steady... and dependable."

Frank and Julian: "..."

Unbearable!

Worldview shattered!

Seraphina pursed her lips to hide a smile and nodded repeatedly. "Mm-hmm, you are very steady and dependable."

"So, President Sterling, who is very steady and dependable—shall I take you home now?"

Solas didn't answer her directly. Instead, he looked at her seriously and said, "Don't call me President Sterling. That's for other people to call me."

Seraphina suppressed her laughter, her gaze exceptionally tender. "Then what should I call you?"

"Big Brother Solas. You should call me Big Brother Solas."

The two onlookers: "..."

Julian had the urge to cover his face. How embarrassing!

He wanted to record this scene to mock Solas in the future, but unfortunately, he had the intent but lacked the guts.

Seraphina didn't think much of it, though she couldn't help but let out a laugh.

"Alright then, Big Brother Solas."

"It's very late. Shall I take Big Brother Solas back?"

Solas nodded.

Seraphina put his phone in her bag and helped him up.

She looked at the two men with unreadable expressions and gave a polite nod. "I'll be taking Solas now. Cousin Frank and Young Master Julian, you've come from afar as guests. Please forgive any lack of hospitality. Once Solas is sober, we will fulfill our duties as hosts and entertain you properly."

With those words, she completely grouped herself together with Solas.

Frank didn't show much of a reaction, but Julian raised an eyebrow slightly.

It seemed Solas might actually get his wish.

The manager, seeing Solas being helped away, was frantic. He didn't dare question Seraphina directly, nor did he even dare ask who she was, fearing he might lack vision and offend someone he shouldn't, only to be punished once his boss woke up. Yet, he couldn't just do nothing...

He hurried into the booth. "Young Master Fu, Young Master Julian, our boss..."

"That is the Eldest Miss of the Pierce family. Have some vision," Julian said.

The manager was a confidant of Solas. Even if he didn't know Solas's specific feelings for Seraphina, he knew very well that the matchmaking session was something Solas had participated in voluntarily.

He suddenly realized that with his boss's capabilities, even if he were dead drunk, his alertness would never fail.

For him to allow someone to take him away, there was only one possibility.

He was willing.

Besides, if the boss weren't willing, these two in the booth wouldn't have let him be taken away.

Secretly wiping away cold sweat, he realized he almost ruined his boss's good opportunity!

"It's late. I'll arrange accommodations for the two of you." The manager was a capable man.

Frank and Julian didn't refuse.

Growing up together, they wouldn't stand on ceremony with Solas over such small matters.

"Frank, weren't you going to catch someone? Did you get him? How did you run into Miss Pierce? You even brought her up here."

"I got him. Miss Pierce helped. As for why I brought her up... haven't you seen clearly yet?"

Of course he had.

It was a sight once in a century!

Solas actually had such a "soft and cute" side.

A real eye-opener!

However, how did a delicate lady like Miss Pierce help? Executing a mission together, Julian knew the target's identity very well; that wasn't someone who only knew a few flashy moves.

Frank was too lazy to explain and directly pulled up the surveillance footage from the hallway for him. Julian watched it, completely dumbfounded.

On the other side, Seraphina successfully got Solas into the car.

She helped him into the passenger seat. Since he was very drunk, it took quite a bit of effort for her to support him this far. As she leaned in to help him sit, her strength failed for a moment, and she fell directly into his arms.

Solas didn't smoke, so there was no smell of tobacco.

A crisp, cool scent mingled with a faint aroma of wine lingered in her nostrils.

Perhaps the wine scent was too strong, for it made Seraphina’s head feel a bit dizzy.

She actually leaned in his arms for quite a while.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, Solas wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her close.

Through his shirt, Seraphina could hear his powerful heartbeat.

Her face suddenly felt a bit hot.

She hurriedly sat up.

It took considerable effort to pull his hand away from her waist.

She fastened his seatbelt for him.

By the time she finished, tiny beads of sweat had appeared on her forehead.

Whether it was from the physical exertion or something else, it was hard to say.

Seraphina knew where Solas lived.

A villa with a small courtyard.

Naturally, it wasn't as grand as the Pierce estate, but it wasn't a place an ordinary person could afford.

In her past life, after being saved by Solas, she lived here most of the time. Solas didn't come back often, but whenever he stayed the night in Seahaven, he returned here.

This was Solas's residence in Seahaven.

The villa’s main gate used fingerprint access. With Solas there, they entered smoothly.

The villa building used a keypad lock.

Seraphina remembered the password. It was a date.

She later learned that it was the day Solas transferred to Seahaven High School.

She didn't enter it with a "trial" mindset; she knew Solas wasn't someone who changed passwords frequently. It was only a few months before he would save her in this timeline; she believed the password was the one she knew.

Sure enough, once the code was entered, the door opened.

She helped him inside and turned on the lights.

The decor was very monotonous. Aside from the usual furniture, there wasn't a single extra decoration, not even a potted plant.

It was exactly the same as the first time she came here in her past life.

It felt like a hotel wearing the disguise of a home.

Back then, after moving in, her mind was elsewhere and she had no interest in decorating. But after she stayed, Solas would occasionally add things to the villa. Over time, it slowly began to look like a home.

Seeing this cold arrangement again so suddenly, she was still a bit unaccustomed to it.

Withdrawing her thoughts, Seraphina helped Solas upstairs; his room was on the second floor.

Strange—it didn't take much effort at all.

She thought Solas had woken up, but after laying him on the bed and seeing his steady breathing, she realized she was overthinking.

After tucking him in, Seraphina turned to go downstairs, intending to go to the kitchen to cook some hangover soup.

She didn't know that the moment she turned to walk out of the room, the man lying on the bed opened his eyes.

His shimmering peach-blossom eyes were deep and profound.
