"Twice Bitten, Forever Yours: The CEO's Secret Guardian" Chapter 059
Chapter 059: A Justifiable Lesson
Seraphina didn't look like she was lying, but Fiona still felt something was off.
Since their return, Seraphina hadn't given them a single pleasant look; her attitude was crystal clear—she simply didn't like them.
But now they were sitting in the same car, and her catching a ride was a spur-of-the-moment decision. It was impossible for Seraphina to have made arrangements in advance.
So, I must be overthinking it.
After some mental preparation, Fiona finally relaxed and proceeded with her original plan to fish for information.
"Sera, I see you've been home lately. Aren't you going to work? From what I know, you should be very busy."
"I've been working all this time; I plan to take a good vacation."
She turned her head and gave Fiona a brilliant smile: "Besides, you and Uncle just returned. You've been abroad for years, and returning so suddenly is like moving to a strange environment. I'm sure there are many things you aren't used to. By staying home longer, I can help out if you need anything."
Fiona didn't believe a word of it.
Failing to draw out any useful information, she felt quite unwilling.
"That's very thoughtful of you. But with how busy your work is, it's good to rest properly. I heard your heart is only set on music and you don't even have a boyfriend—did your parents help arrange something?"
"There is such a thing."
Finally, a lead. Fiona looked at Seraphina’s exquisite side profile, her tone tinged with hidden jealousy: "I also heard the other party is a self-made young man, quite outstanding?"
"Since he's someone my father handpicked, he is naturally outstanding."
Fiona: "..."
Why did Seraphina’s tone sound so strange?
If Solas was outstanding, what was she acting so proud for?
"I heard his name is Solas?"
Seraphina gave a half-smile. "Aunt Fiona, you've certainly heard quite a lot."
Fiona’s face stiffened. Fearing Seraphina would see through her intentions and make it harder to get information, she forced a smile: "Well, I've been away for years and am unfamiliar with many things, so I like to ask around. Naturally, I've heard a few things."
"His name is Solas, right?"
"That's right."
Seraphina looked at the road ahead.
About one kilometer away was the mountain ring road.
It was deserted, filled with "eighteen bends" and sharp turns.
"So, Sera, what do you think? What's your opinion of the person your parents found for you?"
Seraphina was all smiles. "He's very good, of course. I'm very satisfied."
Fiona seemed quite worried that she and Solas might actually hit it off. It wasn't surprising; since they planned to plot against the Pierce family, Fiona and Tyler naturally didn't want the Pierces to have an ally like Solas.
Unfortunately, their worries were misplaced.
She didn't intend to let Solas get involved in the Pierce family's internal mess.

No need to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
"...Very good and satisfied? Sera, surely you don't plan to follow your parents' arrangement? This is your life's happiness; you can't be reckless, and you shouldn't just follow family orders. How many political marriages end in happiness? You need to have your own opinion!"
"Of course, I'm not saying your parents are wrong, or that the person they chose isn't good. I just want you to follow your heart and not wrong yourself just to please others. Don't blame me for being talkative; you've always been filial and obedient, and I'm afraid you're only doing this to make your parents happy... In short, you must take this seriously and not be reckless."
Fiona was clearly panicking.
Seraphina chuckled. "I am taking it very seriously. My father has great vision; I think Solas is quite a good person and have decided to see where it goes."
Fiona was fuming but didn't dare show it, so she had to swallow her rage.
"And what about Solas? I don't mean to pry, I'm just concerned. If you're the only one interested and he doesn't feel the same, your life will be very difficult if you actually end up together..."
She stopped mid-sentence.
Because she saw the smile on Seraphina’s face suddenly vanish, and the girl was looking at her with displeasure.
"What exactly do you mean, Aunt Fiona? Do you think I'm not pretty enough? Not outstanding enough? Not likable? Who are you looking down on?"
With those words, she perfectly channeled the vibe of a spoiled, haughty heiress.
"...I didn't mean it that way, I'm just worried about you."
Fiona hadn't expected this reaction. The Seraphina she knew wasn't a spoiled brat, so why...
Dealing with this version of Seraphina was a problem in itself, let alone fishing for info.
"Then I truly thank you! I'll handle my own business; you don't need to worry about it!"
Since she was "angry" and "throwing a tantrum," it became perfectly logical to speed. She could give Fiona a lesson without alerting the enemy.
And they had just arrived at the right spot.
A sharp curve on the mountain road. She slammed the accelerator and whipped the steering wheel.
The speed was so high that Fiona was slammed back by the inertia. She cried out in terror: "Sera, what are you doing?!"
"Racing. Haven't you seen it? If you haven't even seen this, you're quite narrow-minded, Aunt Fiona. I'll be generous and give you a proper experience. Hold on tight!"
The speed climbed higher and higher.
If it were a flat, straight road, it wouldn't be so terrifying. The key was that this was a mountain road! A winding, twisting mountain road!
Seahaven was supposed to be a major city; how could it still have roads like this?!
"Aaaaaah!"
Fiona screamed the entire way. For a few moments, she almost lost her facade and started cursing, but would Seraphina give her the chance?

Slamming the gas, they nearly flew off the edge of the mountain road twice. Fiona had no room for cursing; she could only scream.
This road originally led to a small suburban scenic spot, but after a main highway was built, few people used it.
It did lead to the city, just with a detour.
After about thirty minutes, the car finally slowed down.
Seraphina didn't keep driving forward but found a spot to pull over.
As soon as the car stopped, Fiona scrambled out the door. Her legs were so weak she nearly collapsed several times.
She ran to the roadside and vomited uncontrollably.
Her face was pale, and she was clearly traumatized.
"Aunt Fiona, are you alright?"
"Really though, Aunt Fiona, you're so cowardly. How can you get so sick just from a car ride? I wasn't even going that fast."
Fiona was shaking all over, whether from rage or fear.
"You... Sera, you're being far too reckless!" She nearly lost her temper, but luckily caught herself in time.
Even though she controlled the outburst, her words were still spat through gritted teeth.
"What do you mean reckless? Clearly, you're just a coward; you can't blame me for that. But if you ask me, you deserve it—who told you to look down on me!"
"I'm meeting a friend and I'm in a hurry. Since you probably don't dare sit in my car anymore, I'll head off first. You can call a taxi yourself."
With that, the car roared to life and sped away in a cloud of dust.
Fiona looked around; though they weren't far from the city, it was a terrible place to find a taxi!
Seraphina had just dumped her on the roadside—how was she supposed to get to the city?!
In a fit of rage, she kicked a tree by the road. But because her legs were weak, the kick caused her to lurch forward into the tree.
Her face made heavy, intimate contact with the trunk.
Her nose was nearly flattened.
The bark was rough; there were bound to be plenty of scratches on her face. It burned with pain.
She was the picture of wretchedness.
"Seraphina Pierce, I will never let you off!"
