"Twice Bitten, Forever Yours: The CEO's Secret Guardian" Chapter 066

Chapter 066: Something on Her Mind

Seraphina was well aware of Solas's capabilities.

After all, he was the one who had taught her everything she knew.

She handed the pinhole cameras to him with complete confidence, even though she could have hidden them just as well herself.

Standing there, watching Solas's back as he seriously installed the cameras, Seraphina suddenly called out, "Big Brother Solas."

Solas turned to look at her. "Mm?"

She pointed toward the balcony railing. "This is the 30th floor. Below the 20th floor are hotel guest rooms. Directly below this spot is the ninth room on every floor. Starting from today, please book room 2009 in your name for a week."

That meant the ninth room on the 20th floor.

Solas stared at her for a few seconds before saying, "Okay."

He didn't even ask for a reason.

Seraphina looked at him, her lips parting slightly. "...Aren't you going to ask why?"

Solas smiled. "It’s not important. It’s just a small thing. If you ask, how could I not do it? You have your reasons; if you want to tell me, you will. If you don't, I won't pry. I will never force you to do anything you don't want to do."

No, you would.

Once, you forced me to live on alone. Fearing I wouldn't be able to, you made me live for your sake too, forcing me to survive in solitude, unable to bring myself to end it.

"I don't plan on inviting you to the Pierce family banquet the day after tomorrow."

Solas was caught off guard. This was completely unexpected.

He thought that given their current relationship, she would have invited him.

He was definitely disappointed. "It's no..."

big deal.

Before he could finish the words, Seraphina interrupted him.

She withdrew her gaze from him and lowered her eyes. "On the day of the banquet, take a day off. Don't go anywhere. Just stay in room 2009 and rest."

"Are you..."

planning to do something?

Solas had originally wanted to ask that.

He hadn't investigated the Pierce family in detail, but he had a general idea.

Like many large clans, the Pierce family had its restless members.

Even if nothing was obvious on the surface yet.

Family scandals shouldn't be aired in public; even if she was planning something, she likely wouldn't want others prying.

So he changed his words: "Alright, I'll stay in the room downstairs all day."

Another promise given without question. When Seraphina looked up at him, her eyes involuntarily reddened for a second.

She quickly turned away. "Let's go. We need to install the rest of the cameras."

Solas gave her back a deep look before following.

They finished installing the remaining pinhole cameras. Not all were on the balcony; they placed a few at optimal, hidden spots within the banquet hall itself.

They took the elevator down from the 30th floor.

Neither of them spoke.

Stepping out of the elevator and out of the hotel, Solas could feel that Seraphina had something on her mind, but he didn't ask.

He became even more certain when they ran into someone outside.

The moment she saw the person, Seraphina stopped in her tracks.

"Sis."

It was none other than Leo.

Seraphina paused for a moment before walking toward him. Without a word, she pulled him into a direct hug.

Solas aside, even Leo was stunned.

After the initial shock, Leo looked toward Solas with a questioning glare, as if asking if he had bullied his sister.

Somehow, Solas understood the meaning in Leo's eyes and shook his head.

This gesture didn't mean he liked Leo particularly much.

Previously, he hadn't felt much toward Leo, only viewing him as the brother of the girl he loved—someone to care for by extension. But now...

The closest he had gotten to the girl was holding her arm, yet Leo got a hug.

Jealousy.

And yet, he couldn't use the same tactics he'd use on a love rival against Leo, nor could he show this jealousy. He could only endure it...

However, he could see that the girl's preoccupation today seemed to be related to Leo.

Though he hadn't known her formally for long and their time together was limited, he knew she rarely had such large emotional swings or did so many confusing things.

For instance, suddenly asking him to book a hotel room for a week, not inviting him to the banquet, and asking him to stay in the room all day during the event...

Seeing Solas shake his head, Leo withdrew his gaze. "Sis, what's wrong?"

Seraphina had already let go of him, her smile faint. "It's nothing. I just suddenly wanted to give you a hug. Weren't you supposed to be at the office helping Dad? Why are you here?"

Leo was still a bit dazed, but he answered seriously. "Dad had a client meeting here, but something came up and he couldn't leave, so he sent me." This hotel provided facilities for business negotiations, and many people met here to discuss deals.

"Then go get busy. I'll be heading out." As she spoke, she suddenly realized Leo hadn't met Solas yet, so she introduced them. "Oh right, this is Solas."

If his upbringing hadn't been so good, Leo probably would have rolled his eyes.

Solas was someone he admired—practically his idol. How could he not know him?

Even if they hadn't met formally, he saw Solas’s face on school bulletin boards, in financial news, and occasionally at banquets.

However, idol or not, bullying his sister was absolutely forbidden.

Learning that Seraphina’s abnormality wasn't because Solas had bullied her, Leo's attitude was decent. He greeted him politely: "Brother Solas."

Solas nodded. "Hello." He walked toward them.

"It's a workday. Is Brother Solas here to meet a client too?" Make no mistake, he was asking on purpose.

This was a hotel, after all. Seeing his sister at a hotel with a man made him instinctively guarded.

Even if this hotel was different from typical ones—being mostly for business meetings or large events.

Seraphina knew exactly what Leo was thinking and almost wanted to flick him on the forehead for his unpure thoughts.

"I came to see if anything was missing for the banquet. Since Big Brother Solas wasn't busy, I asked him to accompany me."

Big Brother Solas...

Leo couldn't help but roll his eyes again.

That nickname was simply unbearable.

His sister had once again overturned his perception of her.

It was truly hard to imagine someone with her personality calling someone "Brother" in such a clingy way. Fortunately, her recent abnormalities had prepared him; otherwise, he wouldn't be able to stay this calm.

Though he felt a bit disgruntled, he considered that Solas was someone he respected. Among the younger generation, only Solas was even remotely worthy of his sister...

Fine, he wouldn't make a fuss.

"It's just a banquet. Is it really worth you being so busy, Sis?"

Leo was certain that Seraphina disliked Tyler Pierce and Fiona. Thus, he couldn't understand why she was putting so much effort into this—a welcome party for those two and a celebration for Fiona—even coming personally to check for flaws.
