Chapter 11: A Spectacular Scene

Sebastian glanced at me, offering a quiet word of comfort. "Now is not the time for tears."

He was right. Since I was already set on divorce, what was there to be sad about? If even Sebastian could remain this composed, I certainly had no reason to fall apart.

"If you had said yes to me five years ago, I would have left Sienna in a heartbeat—I wouldn't even have wanted her child. Back then, you were my entire world. I loved you to the point of madness, but..."

I didn't even want to hear the "but" that followed. Those first few sentences from Julian were enough to twist the knife in my heart.

"But what? What you could have done five years ago, you can do now. I'm carrying your child..." Lydia grabbed Julian’s hand and pressed it against her stomach. "Feel it. Your child is in here. Don't you love me anymore?"

"I do love you, Lydie. You’re the only woman I’ve ever truly loved in my life."

"Then why can't you get a divorce and take me away?"

Julian sighed. "I have my career, and I have a four-year-old daughter. I can't let her grow up without a home."

I couldn't stand to listen to another word of this.

The moment I stormed out from behind the tree, I felt Sebastian reach out as if to stop me, but he missed. Instead of staying back, he stepped out and stood right beside me.

As we confronted Julian and Lydia, the expressions on their faces were more "spectacular" than I could have imagined.

Julian was the first to crumble into panic.

He looked at me, his face pale with terror. "Honey... what are you doing here? Are you... are you just out for a walk in the park?"

"Julian, let’s get a divorce."

"Divorce?"

As Julian repeated the word, Lydia interjected, "Julian, this is perfect! She wants the divorce. Now we can finally be together. You agree, don't you?"

For some reason, hearing her say that made me instinctively glance at Sebastian.

This Lydia was truly a piece of work—brazenly saying such shameless things to another married man right in front of her own fiancé!

"No, I don't agree." Julian actually refused.

He shook off Lydia’s hand and grabbed mine instead. "Honey, she was just a fling. We have a daughter; we can't get a divorce..."

Hearing Julian’s words, Lydia’s face turned white with shock.

I looked coldly at the man I had shared a bed with for five years and reminded him, "Your 'fling' has resulted in a child. Once we’re divorced, you’ll have a brand new family to start."

Julian began to sob hysterically. "No, please! I only want you and our daughter. Honey, I beg you, don't leave me. I can't bear to lose you..."

It was only at this moment that I realized Julian had never intended to leave me.

Men are so despicable—always wanting to keep the "red flag" flying at home while the "colorful flags" flutter outside. But what right did he have to think he could have both?

I, Sienna, have the looks and the grace; even without a man, I could live a brilliant life. Why should I be trapped beside a husband who is nothing but filth?

It was laughable.

"You bitch! I finally found you!" a heavy female voice boomed from nearby.

Julian and I both turned toward the sound.

A middle-aged, stout woman stormed up to Lydia and delivered a resounding slap to her face.

"Ah—!" Lydia screamed.

The woman didn't stop, launching into a tirade of curses while grabbing Lydia by the hair, kicking and punching her. "You little whore! Seducing my husband, spending our money, destroying my family! You even dared to get pregnant to force him into a divorce? Heaven has eyes! I finally caught you today. I’ll kill you..."

Julian stood there, frozen.

He didn't go over to help Lydia. Instead, a look of fury crossed his face. He raised his voice, shouting at her, "You were someone else's mistress? You’ve carried another man’s child before?!"

Watching this chaos, a chilling thought entered my mind—

Was the call I overheard in Sebastian’s office actually a setup to bring this woman to the park? Did he know all along that Lydia and my husband were together?

With that thought, I looked at Sebastian.

He was standing to the side with an air of cold detachment, as if none of this concerned him. Sensing my gaze, he stepped closer to me. "Let’s go. If he won't agree to the divorce, we can file a lawsuit directly."

I snapped out of my daze and murmured a quick "Okay." I still needed to ask him if he had known about Lydia’s infidelity from the start.

But just as I turned to leave, Lydia let out a blood-curdling scream.

I spun around and saw her collapsed on the ground, her legs soaked in blood...
