Chapter 45: Nemesis Posing as the Boyfriend
Mervin Lee never imagined that simply passing by this bar after a dinner with a client would lead to such a spectacular show.
He felt as though the heavens had finally opened their eyes!
Sebastian, oh Sebastian! Even you have a day like this!
At this moment, Mervin didn't feel a shred of fatigue; he wished he could bring a cinema camera and film him for hours!
His nemesis—the man who had caused him to lose his job and be mired in scandal—was currently leaning limply in the arms of a total stranger! That cold face, which usually made one want to tear it to pieces, was now so red it looked like it was dripping blood!
Mervin narrowed his eyes and continued to approach.
The man holding Sebastian looked like a model, wearing tight-fitting clothes with well-defined arm muscles. He was looking down with a look of satiated greed, whispering into Sebastian’s ear while his hand rested improperly around Sebastian’s waist.
"Tsk, disgusting."
Mervin furrowed his brow in disdain, his stomach churning.
Though he had a reputation for being a playboy, he had no interest in men, let alone a fake like Sebastian. However, since this was a scandal involving his rival, it would be against the laws of nature not to seize it!
Mervin’s eyes darted around as he quickly whipped out his phone, snapping several high-definition close-ups of the two in their ambiguous posture.
The flash flickered briefly in the dim corner, but Sebastian was clearly dead to the world and didn't react at all.
After taking the photos, Mervin tucked his phone away, straightened his tie, and strode over.
"Let go of him."
Mervin’s voice wasn't loud, but it carried his habitual arrogance.
Kevin, who was preparing to take Sebastian to a hotel, frowned so hard he could have crushed a fly between his brows at the sudden interruption. He turned his head and sized Mervin up; seeing the expensive clothes and extraordinary temperament, the newcomer didn't look like a common troublemaker.
"Who are you? Don't meddle in things that don't concern you."
Kevin protectively shielded his "prey," his gaze unfriendly. From the moment Sebastian walked in, he had noticed the man's exceptional class, thinking that if he could swindle a large sum, he could probably take half a year off.
Looking at the two of them, Mervin felt utterly sickened; he truly couldn't stand two men doing this. He took a step forward, using his height advantage to look down at Kevin. He casually smoothed an imaginary wrinkle on his cuff, his tone carrying a perfectly measured hint of jealousy.
"I'm his boyfriend."
Mervin pointed at Sebastian, his face projecting the heartbroken expression of a man catching his partner in the act.
"Give him to me. I'm taking him home. I can pretend tonight never happened."
Kevin was stunned.

He looked down at the vacant-eyed Sebastian in his arms, then at the righteous-looking Mervin, and began to have second thoughts. While he wasn't a good person, he usually just blustered and wouldn't actually do anything serious...
"He... he didn't tell me he had a boyfriend."
Kevin sounded a bit guilty; after all, the reputation of intercepting someone else's boyfriend mid-way didn't sound good.
"He's drunk out of his mind; what do you expect him to know if you ask him?"
Mervin let out a cold laugh and reached out to grab Sebastian. "Let go right now, or I'm calling the police to report you for indecent intent."
At the word "police," Kevin completely lost his nerve. Although he was unwilling to let the prize fly away, he didn't want to get involved in a lawsuit. He took one last look at Sebastian’s exquisite face, sighed, and let go.
"Fine. Since it's a misunderstanding, forget it. Take him back quickly. His tolerance... tsk."
Suppressing the urge to hurl Sebastian away like a bag of trash, Mervin hauled the limp, noodle-like man into his embrace.
He was about to explode—he was disgusted to death! He truly couldn't understand how a man could be this soft. Was he like this in bed with that brat, too? Could he even handle the guy?!
Sebastian was burning hot, leaning against him and muttering something indistinctly.
"Mm... Lucian..."
Hearing that name, Mervin nearly rolled his eyes on the spot. So he came out to get drunk because of a broken heart; how melodramatic.
"Shut up, or I might just dump you."
Mervin cursed under his breath.
Kevin hadn't walked far yet. To solidify his role as the boyfriend, Mervin suddenly turned and shouted at Kevin's back: "Wait!"
Kevin turned: "Something else?"
"Since the misunderstanding is cleared, I want to leave my contact info. I’ll treat you to dinner another day to apologize."
Mervin wore a hypocritical smile while raising his phone again. "Add me?"
Hearing this, Kevin felt his previous judgment was correct—this was just a couple having a spat. His mood improved instantly, and he readily added the contact.
Mervin quickly added him, and then, right in front of Kevin, he pulled Sebastian into an extremely intimate pose. He tilted his head so his cheek almost brushed Sebastian’s forehead, one hand gripping Sebastian’s waist tightly while the other flashed a "V" sign.
Click.
An extremely ambiguous photo was born.
To be safe, Mervin changed several angles and took a few more. With every shot, the feeling of disgust in his heart increased! It was so freaking gross! But thinking about slamming these photos onto Sebastian’s desk tomorrow made him feel... so damn good!
"Alright, take care."
Kevin bid him a polite farewell.
Mervin tucked his phone away, the smile vanishing instantly to be replaced by an expression of utter loathing. He half-dragged, half-carried Sebastian like a dead dog and hailed a taxi.
"Driver, to Royal View Bay."
Mervin gave the address of Sebastian’s home. As his nemesis, he knew exactly where the man lived.
The car door shut, blocking out the noise of the night.
In the back seat, Sebastian moved dizzily, his head lolling over to rest on Mervin’s shoulder.
"Hot..."
Sebastian muttered, his hand aimlessly grabbing at Mervin’s chest.
Mervin went rigid, covered in goosebumps.
"Sebastian, get the hell away from me!"
Mervin hissed through gritted teeth, slapping the hand away and unceremoniously shoving the man to the other side. He truly felt like he needed an exorcist to cleanse himself!
Sebastian’s head thudded against the car window, and he let out a whimper of pain, which made Mervin feel like vomiting.
This ride was the longest torture of Mervin’s twenty-plus years of life! He watched the streetscape fly by, calculating how to use these photos to back Sebastian into a corner tomorrow so he could never show his face in the firm again.
As for that man Kevin?
Mervin sneered, playing with his phone. With this leverage in hand, if Sebastian ever dared to resist, he would send the photos to Kevin and have him make a scene at the office.
Anyway, since he was straight, Sebastian could deal with the mess himself.
The car sped through the night; in the back seat, Sebastian had completely fallen into a dead sleep.

CompletedChapter 66
Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 36
