"Goodbye, My Cold Husband: Reborn to Hate You" Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Do You Want to Die That Badly?
Riverside City. Late autumn. Light rain.
It was six in the evening, the peak of rush hour.
Luna stood on the thirty-seventh floor. The fierce, cold wind, mixed with rain, lashed against her, making her sway precariously.
By now, a crowd of onlookers had gathered below. The fire department had arrived and deployed rescue cushions, but she was standing so high that no one could guarantee she would actually land on them if she jumped.
Some were watching for the drama, some were jeering, and others were breaking into a cold sweat for her.
The small construction balcony she stood on was less than half a meter wide. It seemed that even the slightest slip would send her plummeting to the ground, shattered into pieces.
But Luna remained motionless. Her slender fingers gripped the peeling railing behind her, her knuckles white and trembling slightly.
She had simply been feeling frustrated and came to the roof to clear her head. How had it suddenly turned into a suicide attempt?
But things had reached a point of no return. She couldn't back down. A cliff lay before her, and wasn't the abyss right behind her as well?
She was waiting. Waiting for him to come.
Behind her, the negotiators were trying their best to persuade her, but she kept her gaze fixed blankly ahead. Finally, a cold, indifferent voice drifted from behind—calling her name just as he always did, flat and devoid of any emotion.
He said, "Luna, do you want to die that badly?"
Luna finally turned around, offering him a pale, powerless smile. "Gideon, you came."
The man stood among the crowd, his figure tall and upright. His handsome face was currently masked in frost, his eyes sharp and chilling as he stared at her expressionlessly.
Even through the curtain of rain, he was still so striking, not looking the least bit disheveled, always the one who stood out the most.
Luna’s grip on the railing tightened. Her lips were turning purple from the cold, yet she forced out a single sentence: "Since you hate me so much, if I jump from here, will it finally end all of this?"
Gideon’s gaze never wavered. He calmly adjusted his cuffs and spoke unhurriedly, "If you want to jump, then jump. I won’t stop you."
Luna fought back the stinging in her nose, her voice dry. "Did you really never love me?"
"Never." He answered without a moment's hesitation, as if repeating a response he had given a thousand times before—cold and final.
The rescue workers and onlookers were stunned by his answer. The situation was critical; regardless of love or hate, shouldn't he at least try to save her first?
The murmurs grew louder. Many people’s eyes turned to sympathy, though a few still secretly speculated if she was a homewrecker trying to threaten the man.

A woman like that wouldn't be worth grieving for, even in death.
She let out a hollow laugh and took a step forward, her thin frame shaking violently. Her voice carried a hint of despair and emptiness. "In other words, if I jump from here, you won’t feel a single bit of pain, will you?"
Gideon didn't speak, but his icy eyes seemed to say everything.
Luna curled her lips into a smile. Under the terrified gazes of everyone present, she slowly let go of the railing and pulled the ring from her ring finger. "Gideon, I never regretted marrying you in this life, even now. But if there is a next life, I only hope I never meet you again."
After saying that, she intended to step down from the ledge. But at that moment, the hem of her dress caught on the edge. Luna lost her balance and fell backward uncontrollably.
The ring in her hand dropped as she moved, and then, before everyone’s eyes, she fell like a kite with a broken string.
In that instant, Luna’s eyes went blank for a second before she revealed a smile of liberation.
Gideon, I only wish that in the next life, my world is without you.
Chapter 2: Living for Myself
When Luna woke up, her head throbbed painfully, and all she could smell was the sharp scent of disinfectant.
After a moment of daze, she used her hands to push herself into a sitting position. She... wasn't dead?
"At two this afternoon, I’ll have someone pick you up and take you to the courthouse." Gideon’s voice was cold and detached, coming from the sofa on the side.
Luna instinctively looked over. He had that same eternal, unchanging expression, but something felt off.
Gideon didn't stay any longer. Before leaving, he left behind another emotionless sentence: "Don't forget, you were the one who wanted to marry me. I hope you're ready."
"..." Looking at his departing back, Luna felt confused until she saw the digital calendar on the wall. Her eyes widened in shock.
How... how could the date be three years ago?!
Luna suddenly remembered that before she and Gideon registered their marriage, she had been hospitalized with a high fever. Back then, he had come to see her. Before she could even feel happy about the upcoming wedding after waking up, he had said those heartless words to her.
At the time, she was so focused on marrying him that she hadn't taken his hurtful words to heart.
Finding it unbelievable, Luna hurriedly threw off the covers and ran out of bed, bumping into a nurse who was coming in for rounds. She quickly asked, "Hello, excuse me... is the time on that wall accurate?"
The nurse replied with a slight smile, "It might be a minute or two slower than standard time, but it shouldn't matter. Miss Luna, do you need the exact time? If so, I can go get it for you..."

"What about the calendar? Is that broken too?"
"The calendar isn't broken."
Luna couldn't help but frown. Could this be some kind of trick Gideon was playing to get back at her?
After a brief thought, under the nurse's surprised gaze, Luna quickly grabbed her clothes and changed in the bathroom, then took the phone from the bedside table and prepared to leave.
But when she saw the phone, her movements slowed down.
This was the phone she bought with her first paycheck—an identical "couple's model" to his. Even after it was worn out, she couldn't bear to replace it. Once, Gideon saw it and threw it directly into the trash like a piece of junk.
But now, it was perfectly intact, looking brand new.
Luna’s fingers trembled slightly as she strode out of the hospital.
No matter where she went, everything indicated that she had returned to three years ago, before she married Gideon.
Perhaps God had taken pity on her and given her a chance to start over.
She had said that if there were a next life, she would never meet him again.
After leaving the hospital, Luna scrolled through her contacts and called Annie, asking her to go out for drinks that afternoon.
In her previous life, after marrying Gideon, she had poured all her time and energy into him, gradually drifting away from her friends.
This time, she was going to live for herself.
At two in the afternoon, in front of the courthouse.
Gideon sat in the car, glancing down at his watch, his expression icy.
"Sir, should I give Miss Luna a call?"
"No need."
By half-past two, Luna still hadn't appeared.
Gideon's face couldn't even be described as cold anymore; he looked like a demon from hell, sending a bone-chilling shiver through anyone who looked at him.
After Xavier took a call, he felt his skin crawl. He spoke cautiously, "Sir, I just received news. Miss Luna... she’s at a bar drinking with a friend."
"Drive."
"Yes, sir."
Xavier didn't dare look back at his boss's expression. However, he also found it strange. Wasn't Miss Luna desperate to marry the master before? Now that they were finally getting married, why was she standing him up at the last minute?
Women... you truly can never tell.
Chapter 3: Hey Handsome, Are You Available?
This time, Luna played more relaxed and free than ever before. She didn't have to care about anything or think about anything.
She was someone who had already died once; she had learned to take many things lightly.
Seeing her down glass after glass, Annie couldn't help but feel worried. She pulled at Luna’s sleeve. "Lulu, you just recovered from a major illness. You should drink less."
Luna shook her head and smiled at her. "Annie, this is a celebration of survival."
Annie couldn't stop her, so she had no choice. However, it was rare today that they were together and she hadn't heard the name Gideon once.
The bar was relatively less crowded in the afternoon than at night, but Luna kept drinking until nightfall.
Annie resignedly supported her outside the bar. While Luna was throwing up, Annie patted her back to help her breathe. "Lulu, did something trigger you? Why did you drink so much?"
