"Goodbye, My Cold Husband: Reborn to Hate You" Chapter 19
Luna sat opposite her and spoke flatly, "He had something to do and left first."
"Is that so? I heard recently that you jumped off a building. What was so bad that you’d seek death? Why the need to do that?" Serena took a sip of tea and looked at her with a shallow smile, as if it were merely a sympathetic concern.
Luna watched her calmly. "Don't you know why I jumped?"
Serena frowned and shook her head. "I've only met you once. I only heard about the jump from others; how would I know the reason behind it?"
Luna licked her lips and smiled. In this life, she was hiding herself very well; why had she been so restless before?
"You are Gideon’s wife, so no matter what you say, I won't hold it against you. But if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now."
"Serena, it’s been so many years. Are you in such a hurry to leave because you're afraid I'll tell the truth about what happened back then?"
Serena’s expression changed sharply, but she merely let out a light laugh. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Luna was in no hurry. She picked up the teapot and poured herself a cup, smelled it, and then said, "It doesn't matter if you can't remember. I’ll go find Gideon; he should be very interested in hearing some stories from me."
The atmosphere in the private room suddenly tightened to the breaking point. The steam from the tea rose, as if covering the entire room in a hazy veil.
Serena’s fists at her sides gradually tightened. She seemed to endure for a long time before sitting back down, her expression completely different from before. "Even if you tell Gideon, so what? You devious and scheming woman, do you think he would believe you?"
"It doesn't matter if he believes me or not, but at least he will start to doubt the truth of every word you say. Even if things went in the wrong direction from the start, as long as one investigates carefully, something can always be found, can't it?"
Serena gritted her teeth. "What exactly do you want?"
"I’m giving you two choices regarding the truth back then: either you tell Gideon yourself, or I tell him." Luna glanced at her with a cold gaze. "I can give you three days to think about it, but once time is up, I won't give you another chance."
Having said that, she rose abruptly and left without staying a second longer.
Serena’s nails dug deep into her palms, her fake mask cracking bit by bit, her eyes full of viciousness and coldness.
Three years ago, when she rushed back from the UK, Luna had already registered her marriage with Gideon. No matter how much resentment she felt, she had no way to stop it. So the only thing she could do was spread news telling everyone how disgraceful and vicious Luna was.

She knew Gideon; he would absolutely never ask Luna about the events of back then.
The development of the situation was entirely under her control. Gideon spent most of his time at the office or the family home, almost never returning to their so-called "home," and just as she wished, he hated Luna to the bone.
Chapter 43: Summons at the Same Time
However, Luna’s leap from the building and the events that followed had exceeded her expectations.
Serena’s lips curled into a cold smirk. The truth? Then she would give her a so-called "truth"!
After leaving the restaurant, Luna saw Luke standing under a tree. She walked over and patted his shoulder. "Alright, let's go."
Luke turned around, his brow furrowed deeply. "Are you sure? If Gideon finds out I’m helping you, he’ll skin me alive."
"Even if he wants to settle the score, he’ll come for me first. If the sky falls, I’ll hold it up for you. What’s a grown man like you afraid of?" In truth, Luna wasn't certain Serena would reveal the truth so easily, but she had no other choice.
Judging by the current situation, the moment she mentioned the past, Gideon would likely tell her to get out before she even had a chance to speak.
So, it was worth a try.
After parting ways with Luke, she had dinner with Annie and then found a way to contact her brother’s assistant. However, Ethan wouldn't believe her based on just a few words; in her previous life, they had only found her through a stroke of luck.
Thus, Luna had to brace herself and tell the assistant that she was the President’s wife of the Cook Group and needed to meet Ethan.
The other side replied quickly: Ethan would be coming to the city in a week to discuss a contract with the Cook Group, and it would be fine to meet then.
After hanging up, just as Luna was wondering how to break this to Gideon, Xavier’s call came in. He spoke with his usual professional, business-like tone: "Madam, the Master wants you to come to the office."
...
At the office door, Luna ran into Luke.
When their eyes met, both saw surprise in each other's gaze.
Why would Gideon summon them both at the same time?
All their doubts were answered the moment they opened the door.
Serena was sitting on the sofa, her nose red from crying as if she had suffered a world of grievances. The man sitting in the armchair beside her looked cold to the extreme, like a god of death, radiating a bone-chilling aura.
"Gideon, it’s all my fault. I don't know what I did wrong to make Luke plot against me with her. Just treat it as if I did all those things. I am the instigator, the worst person of all."
The more she spoke, the more heartbroken she became, tears falling like pearls from a broken string.

Luke felt like he had been kicked by a mule. He had a thousand words to say but didn't know how to start.
Compared to him, Luna, the person involved, appeared much calmer. She didn't even look at Serena. Instead, she fearlessly met Gideon’s dark, heavy gaze and asked, "You believe her?"
"Why shouldn't I?" His voice sounded like it had been pulled from an ice cellar, enough to coat one's heart in frost. But... the current Luna wouldn't let it.
Although she didn't know exactly what Serena had said, she suspected it was a half-truth.
Luna took a soft breath and was about to speak when Serena choked out, "Gideon, I really did everything. Don't blame them. I’m just an orphan; what power do I have to go against the Luke family? I beg you, don't look into it anymore..."
Luke let out a sarcastic laugh. If he had harbored any doubts about Luna's words before, he believed her completely now.
Serena’s acting was truly superb. If he hadn't been an outsider to her drama, he might have actually believed her.
Gideon’s voice grew even colder, the emotions in his eyes as biting as a blizzard. He rose and approached Luna, every step exerting an invisible pressure. "Luna, are these the things you planned to do after waking up? I thought you would be different than before."
Chapter 44: You Really Should Die After All
Luna was backed into a corner by him, but she still looked him in the eye. "I have never changed, it's just that you never believe me."
He sneered, one hand seizing her neck. "I’ll ask you one more time. Why did you look for him yesterday?"
Her neck was slender, looking as if it could be snapped with the slightest effort.
Luke couldn't help but speak up: "Gideon..."
"Get out."
"Gideon..."
"All of you, get out!"
Serena had never seen him this enraged. She hesitated for a moment, but knowing that saying too much could be counterproductive, she bit her lip and got up to leave.
As she passed Luke, she saw his eyes narrow slightly.
Serena sneered inwardly. It didn't matter. She didn't care about others' opinions as long as Gideon believed her.
But today, she hadn't mentioned a single word about the Ugly Duckling.
That was the focal point of all Gideon’s hatred for Luna. Since she had already framed the narrative this way, no matter what Luna said now, Gideon wouldn't believe it. He would only think she was struggling in her death throes.
Heh, this was the "truth" she wanted.
Luke glanced at Luna, and she signaled with her eyes for him to leave first.
This was between the two of them. No matter the outcome, it had to be faced.
Luke sighed softly but didn't go far. He waited at the door, just in case something happened and he needed to intervene immediately.
Gideon saw their little interaction. The grip of his hand tightened, and a thin layer of frost covered his eyes. "What exactly is going on between you two, hm?"
