"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 51
Chapter 51: You Are Awake
"Uncle?"
Willow Avery blinked her eyelashes twice before she finally confirmed that the person in front of her was truly awake.
The tears she had held back for a very long time spilled over uncontrollably at this exact instant.
Willow wiped her tears away haphazardly, joyfully murmuring from her mouth: "You're awake, you're awake, you didn't end up in a vegetative state..."
Seeing her appearance, Julian Kingston found it both heartbreaking and amusing.
The young girl was this grief-stricken purely because she was worried he would become a vegetative state.
"I wouldn't," he said with a dry, hoarse voice. "I know my limits."
He cherished his life.
The kind of cherishing his life where he wanted to have a good outcome with her.
Willow nodded repeatedly.
Right now, whatever her uncle said was perfectly fine.
It was just that for some reason, when he was unconscious earlier, she could still restrain herself from crying, but now seeing him perfectly well, her tears instead couldn't be stopped at all.
It was likely because she was far too happy.
"Don't cry."
Julian looked at Willow, who had wiped her tears all over her face. He exerted an effort to raise his hand, touching her face. "You look like a little stray cat."
He felt heartbroken.
"Okay." Willow took a deep breath, working hard to swallow her tears down.
She raised her hand to rub her eyes. "I'll be fine very soon."
Julian didn't respond, his line of sight falling upon the back of her hand.
Frowning: "Where did you get hurt?"
"Huh? Uncle Julian, I'm not injured."
Willow shook her head instinctively. Noticing the man's gaze, she followed it to look, and only then did she recall that she had yanked out the needle last night and hadn't processed it afterward.
At this moment it had already turned black and blue, falling upon her fair skin and looking exceptionally prominent.
"You mean this?" She waved the back of her hand toward him. "It was because my low blood sugar caused me to faint, and I was hooked up to glucose."
Julian's brow furrowed even tighter. "You yanked out the needle yourself?"
He could tell.
"Mm."
Willow gave a light response, not intending to say more.
She couldn't very well tell her uncle that she was far too worried about him.
"Oh right, Uncle Julian," she shifted the topic, "I can't find my phone. I'll look for the butler in a bit to tell Grandpa Sterling that you're awake. He was very worried about you yesterday."
Julian's point of focus remained entirely on the back of her hand. "Remember to apply a cold compress later."
"Okay." Willow nodded obediently.
"Mr. Kingston, you're awake?"
The doctor's voice traveled from outside the ward.
Immediately after, he walked in with quick strides, performing a simple examination on Julian.
Everything was normal.

"Mr. Kingston, the anesthesia has already worn off, and your wounds will experience a certain degree of pain. If you can't endure it, call us at any time."
"Mm."
"Oh right," the doctor said further, "for the matter of a caregiver, shall I arrange one for you?"
Hearing this, Julian replied, "I'll arrange it myself."
The doctor nodded. "Then you confirm it early, only right now..."
"Right now it's fine for me to look after him."
Willow said hurriedly.
Julian had been injured like this entirely to protect her.
A bandage was wrapped over the top of his head.
Over a dozen stitches were sewn on his back.
Even his calf had suffered an injury.
The doctor adjusted his glasses. "Fine. Mr. Kingston's lips are a bit dry; use a cotton swab dipped in some water to moisten them for him."
"Okay."
Willow quickly went to keep herself busy.
Drawing the warm water, she carefully leaned close to his side.
Using the water-dipped cotton swab, she moistened his thin lips bit by bit.
She didn't forget to inquire about his evaluation.
"Uncle Julian, how is my technique?"
The young girl leaned very close.
Her pure and beautiful face was enlarged in his sight.
The sweet scent belonging exclusively to her exploded within his breath.
He averted his gaze unnaturally, responding, "Mm."
The doctor always felt the aura between the two of them was strange.
If you said they were close, they seemed exceptionally proper.
If you said they weren't proper, they seemed to have quite a relative relationship.
"Ahem..."
Julian's deliberate coughing sound caused the doctor to quickly pack up his gossiping thoughts. "Mr. Kingston, then I shall head out?"
Julian: "Bring an ice pack and a towel over."
The doctor was puzzled. "Do you have some discomfort?"
"The back of her hand is swollen," Julian's voice cooled down. "A matter like this can actually be overlooked."
The doctor assumed it was an injury from the car accident that he hadn't noticed.
Looking over instinctively, he couldn't resist widening his eyes.
Isn't it just... a swelling from yanking out a needle?
Is this some major injury that is very easy to notice?
Seeing he didn't move, Julian spoke out deeply, "Aren't you going quickly?"
"Right away, Mr. Kingston."
The doctor quickly turned around to grab the items.
He continuously alerted himself along the way that this young girl was also a member of the Kingston family. The Kingston family had specially come to this private hospital to find him and gave him a massive red packet; he must look after her preciously.
Exactly like Mr. Kingston, an injury to a single finger had to be noticed!
Very soon, the doctor delivered the items to reduce the swelling.
Willow felt the back of her hand was fine and there was no necessity to apply a cold compress followed by a hot compress.
But Julian insisted, so she also listened obediently and followed suit.
Sometime later, the butler delivered the dinner over.
Willow's was very rich, while Julian, because he had just finished surgery, was only prepared porridge.
Willow helped arrange the meals, asking:
"Uncle Liu, where is Grandpa Sterling? He doesn't know Uncle Julian is awake yet, right?"
"The Master went to handle matters regarding the car accident," the butler smiled. "Miss Avery doesn't need to be concerned; the hospital notified the Master at the first instant. Leave has also been requested from the school; you suffered a fright, so for the time being, rest here for two days."
"That's good then."
Willow took the porridge bowl from the butler's hand. "Uncle Liu, you go accompany Grandpa Sterling. Uncle Julian has me to look after him here."
The butler complied, turning around and walking out.
The third young master was awake, so he didn't need to step into the matter of a caregiver; presumably, he had already handled it well himself.
Just preparing to seal the door shut, he saw Miss Avery pull up the overbed table, placing the porridge bowl upon it: "Uncle Julian, have your meal."
And that critical third young master in his eyes, who never drew close to women, lifted his eyes to glance toward the standing girl.
"My back is injured too severely; my hands can't exert force."
"Willow, you have to feed me."

CompletedChapter 66
Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 45
