"The Sickly CEO’s Shared Senses" Chapter 39
39. Kissing His Adam's Apple
"What are you watching?"
Half an hour later, Killian’s online video conference finally ended.
At this moment, Tara was engrossed in the anime Chloe had sent her.
"A really good romance anime. The leads are so sweet."
Her eyes were glued to the screen as she answered him.
Was it really that good?
Curious, Killian sat down beside her and leaned in to watch with her.
On the screen, the male and female leads were currently kissing.
It was a very brief, chaste kiss—innocent to the extreme—but even so, Tara’s eyes sparkled, and her cheeks were flushed.
"Ah, so sweet," she whispered, her round, bright eyes wide as she stared at the screen.
Killian felt the characters in this anime looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn't recall where he had glimpsed them before.
Unable to figure it out, he stopped thinking about it. He idly played with her soft hair, but soon feeling unsatisfied, he simply reached out and wrapped his arm around her soft waist, pulling her into his arms like a pillow.
"Ah, watch out for your hand!"
His move was so sudden that Tara gasped, looking at the splint on his right forearm.
Fortunately, there was no stinging pain. Tara breathed a small sigh of relief and simply let him hold her.
The anime Chloe sent had twelve episodes in total, and each was not very long—about ten minutes.
Tara was currently on the third episode and was already overwhelmed by the sweetness.
By the fourth episode, the kissing scenes between the leads became more frequent, and they gradually escalated from chaste pecks at the beginning.
Their interactions became increasingly heavy with tension.
Tara didn't think much of it; after all, as feelings heat up, such interactions should be normal.
"Uh..."
In the current scene, the male lead was helping the female lead with her studies at her home.
The female lead was dazed by the male lead’s beauty, unable to focus on the lesson. Because of their proximity, she finally couldn't resist and gently kissed the male lead's handsome Adam's apple.
The male lead let out a muffled groan, his face flushing instantly. He stared deeply at the female lead for a few seconds before finally pulling her into a deep kiss.
The kiss was so vivid that every detail of their intertwined lips and teeth was visible; it was incredibly passionate.
Tara watched with a burning face, feeling a bit confused.
Was it really that sensitive, just from a kiss on the Adam's apple?
She couldn't help herself. She turned slightly and looked up at Killian’s Adam's apple.
His was very handsome, with sharp and smooth lines like a carefully carved piece of art. The protruding part was particularly sexy.
It was devastating; Killian’s Adam's apple actually looked even better than the one in the anime!
Perhaps her gaze was too intense, as Killian noticed and looked down. "What is it?"

His voice was low and magnetic. As he spoke, his Adam's apple moved with the motion of his throat muscles and cartilage—a wordless display of sexual tension.
Tara didn't say anything; she just stared silently at his throat.
At this moment, she suddenly understood why the girl in the anime couldn't resist kissing it.
As if possessed, she imitated the girl and tilted her head up to kiss his Adam's apple.
"Phew..."
The air became terrifyingly still for a moment. Tara only heard a very low, heavy exhale.
She blinked.
His reaction didn't seem that strong.
Practice complete. It turns out the anime was exaggerating,
she thought silently.
She was about to turn back to continue the anime, but unexpectedly, Killian’s large hand suddenly clamped onto her neck.
Tara looked up at him in confusion. "Wh—"
Before she could finish, she was scorched by the thick danger and heat in his eyes.
"You think you can run after teasing me?"
He finished in a deep voice, and his long fingers suddenly shut off the tablet and tossed it aside. He gripped the back of her neck and leaned down to press her into the carpet.
On the soft rug, the girl’s black, glossy hair spread out. Her soft roots were invaded inch by inch by the young man's long fingers, tightening intimately.
Her breath seemed completely siphoned away; between her nose and lips was only his breath, his scent.
The cherry-pink hem of her dress spread out completely. Her fair, pale legs were helplessly pressed beneath him, unable to move a fraction.
It was a distance of being tightly pressed together, intimate without a single gap—even "negative distance."
So, the anime was actually conservative,
Tara thought.
She gripped his lean waist tightly, unable to stop herself from letting out soft whimpers as she was kissed. Her shimmering eyes couldn't hold back the tiny, crystalline pearls that dropped from her lashes.
"Killian, no more."
This kiss was exceptionally long. Having finally gained a chance to catch her breath, Tara immediately begged for mercy.
He was far too fierce this time. Tara felt like something was on the verge of spiraling out of control.
Hearing her words, Killian indeed paused.
He gazed intensely at her shimmering eyes filled with mist. His Adam's apple rolled up and down, and finally, as if compromising, he stopped forcing her.
"Alright," he said raspy. His sturdy arm hooked around her slender waist, and with a slight exertion, their positions shifted. He let her collapse onto his lean chest, looking down at him.
"Let me hold you for a bit." His magnetic voice was exceptionally sexy and low due to his restraint.
Tara propped her hands on his chest, letting him hold her obediently, but she gradually felt something was wrong.
It was a surge that the soft, thin fabric of her dress couldn't cover.

A strange sensation rose within her body.
It was familiar; it had appeared just last night, torturing her until dawn.
The tips of Tara’s ears turned red instantly. She lay on him, not daring to move or speak, even though she was very uncomfortable right now.
I shouldn't have been so curious,
Tara thought regretfully.
Now that he was suffering, she naturally felt uneasy too.
She thought letting him hold her for a bit would be enough.
But as time passed, Tara realized she was wrong.
He seemed even more... energetic.
Tara’s cheeks were as red as ripe cherries. Finally, unable to take it anymore, she whispered, "Killian."
"Sorry," Killian’s large hand gently stroked the soft hair at the back of her head. "Did I scare you?"
Things like this were sometimes beyond one's control, let alone since she had started the fire.
Now Tara was no longer obsessing over whether she was his "official" girlfriend or not, because in her eyes, they were already no different from a real couple. Kissing and going to bed together would happen sooner or later.
In the past, Tara had been very resistant to such things—at least when she was with Pan.
He never respected her and was always giving her sexual hints, making her feel like his only purpose for dating her was to sleep with her.
But dating Killian was different.
He had always respected her and helped her many times. At first, she might not have felt the spark, but over time, it was hard not to fall for him.
So the situation had completely reversed:
She wanted to sleep with him.
Killian truly had a face that looked like it would be very "enjoyable."
Facing this handsome face, it was hard for Tara to refuse.
"No."
Tara gave his jaw a comforting kiss. "I wasn't scared."
That being said, she didn't do anything more.
Help him?
She could, but aside from the fact that she didn't know how, even if she did, she couldn't take the initiative anymore, or she would surely scare Killian.
Then he would definitely think she wasn't demure and call her "Brave Tara" again.
But if she didn't choose to do it, and used other methods to help him?
That wouldn't work either; that involved Tara’s blind spot of knowledge. She still wouldn't know how.
So, tonight, he was destined to solve it himself.

Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 89 -
