"The Sickly CEO’s Shared Senses" Chapter 40
40. Is He Good at It?
The next day, Female Dormitory 105 at University of Cloud.
"Out with it! Where exactly have you been these past few days?"
On the second day of Tara staying out all night, Chloe and Cassidy finally realized something was wrong and began their "interrogation."
Tara knew she couldn't keep it a secret forever, so she confessed.
"At Killian’s place."
Hearing this, Chloe and Cassidy's expressions didn't seem very surprised.
Cassidy: "I knew it!"
"No wonder Leo has been sour-faced these past two days, constantly arguing with Killian over video calls." Chloe looked like she had just achieved enlightenment.
Tara was puzzled. "My brother is arguing with Killian?"
"Yeah!"
"You stayed at Killian’s for two days; didn't you notice?" Chloe looked at her teasingly.
Tara shook her head honestly. "No."
And why would her brother argue with Killian?
Could it be...
She guessed, "My brother knows I stayed the night at Killian’s?"
"The fact that you and Killian are dating isn't a secret at school anymore, okay?"
Cassidy looked at her as if she were a fool. "Besides, you both disappeared for a few days at the same time. Anyone could figure it out with a bit of guessing."
Tara bit her lip and fell silent.
Since they were young, Leo had been particularly opposed to her dating, always worried she would be tricked by men.
In fact, the earliest sex education she received in her life was given by him.
He had said a lot, emphasizing that a girl must protect herself.
Something like staying out all night was basically dancing in her brother's minefield.
When he found out she was dating Pan before, he always found Pan disagreeable and looked for trouble with him repeatedly.
Now that she was with Killian, would it affect his friendship with him?
Previously, Tara had only cared about pursuing him and hadn't considered this issue at all. But now...
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she became.
Chloe and Cassidy could tell what she was thinking just by looking at her face.
Cassidy gave Chloe a look.
Chloe understood and stepped forward to pat Tara’s shoulder. "Alright, don't worry. Your brother will definitely be satisfied with Killian as a brother-in-law. He’s just throwing a tantrum because his 'precious cabbage' was snatched away. How could he not know his best friend's character?"
Tara looked at her hopefully. "Really?"
Chloe patted her chest. "Of course! I've been chasing your brother for so long; how could I not know his temperament?"
"Don't worry. If he wasn't satisfied, he would have persuaded you to break up long ago. But seeing your state, he hasn't even planned to interfere, has he?"
After hearing Chloe's comfort, the worry in Tara's heart indeed diminished a lot. "I see. Thank you, Chloe."
"Thank me?" Chloe suddenly narrowed her eyes and leaned in. "You plan to just thank me verbally without showing some appreciation?"

Tara was stunned.
Just as she really began to think about what kind of appreciation would be best, she saw Chloe and Cassidy suddenly grab their respective chairs, bring over a bag of melon seeds, and sit right in front of her.
"Spill it." Cassidy tossed a melon seed into her mouth, her expression teasing. "Did you sleep with Killian?"
Chloe followed up immediately: "Is he good at it?"
Cassidy: "Is he... over 20cm down there?"
Chloe: "Is he like what the school fanfics say—durable and fierce?"
"Tell us, tell us! It's great inspiration! We'll need it for writing spicy stories and feeding the fans later!"
Tara: "..."
This isn't the bus to the kindergarten; I want to get off!
"Tara, why is your face so red?"
In the afternoon, at a shopping mall in the city.
To escape the interrogation of those two "yellow-minded" girls, Tara had simply agreed to Dorothy’s invitation to go shopping.
Facing her question, Tara covered it up. "The weather is too hot; it’s stuffy."
The tail end of midsummer was all that remained, and autumn would soon arrive. The temperature lately wasn't actually that hot.
Furthermore, the mall had air conditioning; it was practically cool.
This pretentious little white lotus is really too delicate,
Dorothy thought to herself in annoyance, but her face showed worry. "Is that so? Should I go buy a bottle of water for you?"
"No, no need, I'm not thirsty," Tara said, habitually reaching out to hook her arm into Dorothy’s. "Didn't you say you wanted me to look at clothes with you? Let's go, let's go."
Dorothy suppressed the urge to fling her hand off and smiled. "Okay."
Ten minutes later, in a women's clothing store.
"Wow, this dress is so beautiful! Tara, what do you think?"
Dorothy held up a new-style satin long dress against herself, her love for it evident in her voice as she asked.
Tara was considering whether to buy a piece of clothing for Killian. Hearing the question, she looked up.
After a moment, she nodded. "It's pretty!"
"Do you think it suits me?" Dorothy looked at her with a smile.
Tara blinked and gave her a sincere smile. "Mhm, it will definitely look good on you."
Hearing this, Dorothy was exceptionally joyful.
Although she disliked this white lotus, she had to admit one thing: the girl's aesthetic sense was top-tier.
So, if she said the dress looked good, it must look good.
The female sales assistant nearby saw the situation and, being very perceptive, smiled at her. "Miss, if you like it, why not try it on first?"
Dorothy was indeed tempted, but out of habit, she first checked the price tag.
It was fine until she looked; once she did, the smile on her face faded bit by bit.
Eighteen thousand? Why not just rob someone?
Tara, who was daydreaming beside her, didn't notice anything wrong.

However, the sales assistant took in her reaction completely, so her initially enthusiastic expression faded significantly, and her eyes even carried a hint of disdain.
She looked as if she were silently saying:
Broke person, if you can't afford it, don't look!
Anger immediately flared in Dorothy's heart.
"I'll take this dress!"
She looked at the sales assistant coldly. "Check me out."
The sales assistant was stunned. The disdainful look on her face vanished instantly, her attitude doing a 180-degree turn as she said pleasantly, "Certainly, Miss."
But after paying, Dorothy regretted it.
Eighteen thousand—this had spent almost all the money she had recently struggled to obtain.
The more she thought about it, the more her heart ached, and her face grew more and more sour.
Coincidentally, Tara snapped out of her daze and saw her, asking in confusion, "Dorothy, what's wrong?"
Hearing her voice, Dorothy paused, remembering the purpose of this trip.
She looked at Tara, a hidden darkness in her eyes.
"Tara, I still want to try on this dress. Could you wait for me here for a moment?"
Tara nodded. "Sure, no problem. Take your time."
"Mhm."
After Dorothy finished speaking, she took the dress to the fitting room. Before leaving, she didn't forget to take her phone. Then, using the gap while Tara was spacing out, she secretly snapped a photo of her.
Inside the fitting room, she spread the dress out and took a photo, then sent it along with the photo she just stole of Tara to [Ming].
Sticky Sweet Rice Ball: [Hubby, I’m out shopping today. This dress is so pretty; I really love it. Hubby, can you buy it for me?]
In a certain bar in the city, Ming picked up his phone and stared longingly at the girl in the photo for several seconds.
A moment later, looking at the familiar background in the photo, his eyes suddenly lit up with joy.
She was actually here?
[Ming has transferred to you: 10,000.00]
Ming: [No problem, babe. If you like it, buy a few more. If you don't have enough money, just ask hubby.]

Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 89 -
