"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 57
Chapter 57: You Don't Happen to Like Your Uncle, Do You?
Early the next morning.
Adrian Cross dressed himself up all neat and proper.
He even specially bought fresh flowers, a fruit basket, and a cake before heading to the hospital.
These were all from his years of experience, absolutely guaranteed to please a girl.
Reaching outside the main entrance of the private hospital, he unexpectedly ran into Luna Hayes.
"Miss Hayes, what a coincidence."
Seeing Adrian, Luna greeted him with a smile: "Doctor Cross, are you here to visit Mr. Kingston?"
"Yes," Adrian nodded. "Julian even mentioned you to me yesterday."
Luna's heart tightened instantly: "What did Mr. Kingston say about me?"
"Just asked how your driving skills were, completely out of the blue." Adrian shrugged. "It’s perfect that we ran into each other; let's go up together."
Julian had sent a message yesterday asking him to build up his image in front of his child, so he naturally had to seize every opportunity and every moment.
Hearing this, Luna let out a breath of relief.
It seemed Julian hadn't said anything to Adrian.
This current opportunity came at just the right time.
She had just been agonizing over how to get into the hospital again.
...
Adrian led Luna all the way into the ward.
When he pushed open the door, Julian was the only one in the room.
"Yo, yo, being a lone wolf like this, aren't you a bit too lonely?"
Adrian went inside carrying a large pile of things. "Injured like this, and you didn't find a caregiver?"
Just as Julian was about to speak, his line of sight caught Luna following behind Adrian, and his face darkened instantly.
"Get out."
Adrian: ??
He had only just arrived.
"Mr. Kingston," Luna behind him was the first to open her mouth, "treating me like this will make me very sad."
For a moment, Adrian didn't know what kind of drama was playing out right now.
Wasn't he supposed to promote the relationship?
What was with him being this cold himself?
Could it be that he had encountered an awkward situation where it was hard to back down gracefully?
Thinking of it this way, there truly was only this one possibility.
He hurried to say: "Oh, everyone calm down a bit and be peaceable. Julian, weren't you very concerned about Miss Hayes previously? Don't put on airs at a time like this."
Outside the ward door.
Willow Avery, who had returned from buying food, halted her steps, her eyes widening in utter disbelief.
Her uncle was... very concerned about Luna?
How come she didn't know?
Could there be some misunderstanding?
Her hand instinctively gripped the food boxes in her hold tighter. She wanted to push open the door, but hesitated a bit.
The dialogue inside the room was still continuing.
Luna spoke up excitedly: "Mr. Kingston, do you also have a good impression of me?"

"Of course," Adrian was the first to open his mouth. "How about this, you two confirm your relationship today? Personally, I love playing matchmaker the most."
Julian looked toward Adrian: "...Take her out."
Adrian still wanted to speak further, but the coldness on the man's face wasn't faked.
Could it be that he had made a mistake?
Thinking it over, he could only say politely to Luna: "Miss Hayes, how about you step out first? Let us two big men have a private chat?"
Luna was full of smiles.
She had thought Julian was very difficult to handle.
She hadn't expected him to have his colleague come play the lobbyist today.
Right now, she didn't need to be in a hurry for a single moment, so she nodded, turned around, and walked out.
Just as she sealed the door shut, she unexpectedly caught sight of Willow standing by the wall.
"Oh my, you gave me a sharp fright."
Seeing Willow at this moment, the dislike Luna harbored toward her previously vanished into thin air in an instant.
After all, she would be her Auntie in the future.
She had to build up a good relationship.
Thinking of this, she pulled Willow, walking all the way to the very end of the corridor.
"Willow, you heard the words inside just now, right?" Luna said with jubilation, "Your uncle actually likes me! From what moment do you think his heart was moved by me?"
"Could it be the first time he saw me at school?" she speculated, "Or that time I fell off the horse, he touched me..."
The more Willow listened, the deeper her brow furrowed.
She remembered her uncle had told her that day that it was impossible between him and Luna Hayes.
How could it be this sudden...
"Willow, Willow," Luna shook her shoulders, "In the future I will be your Auntie. You have to remember to help create dating environments for me and Julian, you know?"
Willow shook her head gently.
She couldn't manage such tasks and would never agree.
Moreover, she and Luna couldn't count as friends anymore right now.
Speaking candidly: "Luna, I have no way to help."
"What are you doing?"
Luna looked her up and down, asking, "Do you just not want me to be together with your uncle?"
She said in annoyance: "You're holding a grudge against me just because of an accidental car accident, aren't you? The one injured wasn't you, it was your uncle. Your uncle didn't even blame me, what qualification do you have to throw a face at me?"
Luna closed in step by step, a certain thought continuously expanding within her brain.
She asked: "Willow, you don't happen to like your uncle, do you?"

CompletedChapter 66
Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 45
