"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 59
Chapter 59: Having a Good Impression
Willow Avery scrambled up from Julian Kingston's body in a total panic.
She stood there hanging her head as if being punished to stand: "I'm sorry, I failed to keep my footing just now."
"Is that so?"
A slight curve lifted Julian's thin lips: "Someone who studies dance can fail to stand steadily too?"
Willow: !!!
She truly shouldn't have failed to stand steadily.
It was purely because the two of them were too close.
But she had no way to say this reason out loud.
Looking at the young girl's panicked appearance, Julian didn't tease her much, saying: "It's fine, go have your meal."
Willow nodded, took a few steps after turning around, and then looked back toward him again:
"Uncle Julian, when I was outside the ward just now, I heard your conversation with Doctor Cross. Do you like Luna?"
"Adrian mistook the person." Julian explained to her, "He thought that Luna Hayes was you."
Willow thought for a good while before her mind managed to wrap around it.
So, the person her uncle cared about...
Was her?!
Her heart couldn't help but beat much faster.
Just as if a rabbit were hiding inside it.
...
The next day when Willow arrived at school, she saw Luna Hayes with a face full of resentment.
The moment morning practice ended, Luna walked straight over, saying in a furious rush: "Willow Avery, did you say something to your uncle? Yesterday he still said he liked me, yet today he won't even let me enter the hospital."
She had been blocked at the hospital entrance by security early in the morning; it couldn't be mentioned how embarrassing it was.
The more she thought, the angrier she grew, leaving her no choice but to return to attend classes.
Yet she hadn't expected Willow to come too.
She was just agonizing over a chest full of fury with nowhere to vent, and right now it was all poured onto Willow: "I'm telling you, don't do those useless tasks. Otherwise, when I become your Auntie, I'll make things difficult for you!"
"Luna, you've misunderstood," Willow looked at her calmly, "Uncle Julian doesn't like you at all. You've misunderstood."
"Nonsense!"
Luna didn't believe it at all: "Doctor Cross is his good friend, and he said it with his own mouth, how could it be false? You're just jealous of me!"
Willow shook her head, not wanting to continue speaking anymore.
It would have no outcome.
Seeing her attitude, Luna's temper flared even more.
Several girls around who followed her lead blindly also helped speak up.
"Willow, what's wrong with you? Everyone is a friend, why must you speak so hurtfully?"
"So what if your uncle doesn't like Luna? As Luna's best friend, can't you play matchmaker?"
"And to think Luna treated you as a friend, heartless one."
Luna let out a cold snort: "You guys don't know, Willow probably harbors bad intentions toward her uncle."

"What?"
The classroom instantly exploded like a boiling pot.
"This doesn't conform to ethics, right?"
"Willow looks quiet, so her thoughts are actually this open-minded?"
"Liking her uncle? Does she have no face?"
All kinds of remarks tunneled into Willow's ears.
Causing her to uncontrollably clench her hands tightly.
Immediately after, she lost her strength and released them.
Fretting over them was a complete waste of time.
These people were merely arranged specially by Luna Hayes to disgust her.
Luna looked at her in a haughty and overbearing manner: "Willow, I can't bear to see you be scolded either. How about you make a toxic vow to prove that you don't like Julian Kingston?"
"Luna Hayes," compared to her, Willow remained calm all along, "you are blocking my path."
"You..."
Luna felt a sense of helplessness, as if punching a ball of cotton. Just as she wanted to say more, her phone suddenly rang.
Answering the call, her face turned pale, and she walked toward the outside in a desperate hurry.
Seeing the situation, the surrounding people scattered one after another.
Willow didn't take Luna's behavior to heart.
A few nasty words wouldn't cost a piece of flesh.
However, she did think seriously about her feelings toward her uncle.
It seemed she truly had quite a good impression of him.
It was over, she wouldn't truly like her uncle, would she?
...
Time quickly passed for a week.
Julian's body gradually improved; he could eat and wipe his body by himself, and he could also get out of bed to move around a bit.
There was no more need to have others help.
Willow also let out a breath of relief.
She studied English at the hospital.
With the midterm exam approaching, English needed to be tested.
Her talent in the aspect of language wasn't very high, and all kinds of grammar gave her a headache looking at them.
Wearing headphones to listen to English listening comprehension, she just couldn't understand no matter what.
Looking at the English exercise book again, it was entirely filled with wrong answers.
Julian leaned against the hospital bed, watching the young girl sitting in front of the table reading a book let out a sigh once every moment.
He couldn't resist lifting his feet, walking to her side.
Cloze test, out of ten questions she got six wrong.
There were still a few questions on the back page that he didn't see.
Estimated they were also too miserable to look at.
"Don't know how?"
The man's voice suddenly sounded from behind. Willow instinctively straightened her arms, hiding the exercise book toward her own embrace.
But Julian's movement was faster, taking the book a step ahead.
Willow knew her English was a bit ridiculous.
She was proficient even in math, but this subject alone was an exceptional shortcoming.
"Uncle Julian," she didn't want to lose face right in front of Julian, "I still have to study, can you return the book to me?"
Seeing he was about to flip the page, she hurriedly stood up to snatch it.
"What are you afraid of?"
Julian gripped her wrist: "Being partial to subjects is very normal."
"I'm not afraid, it's just..." Willow's eyes stared at the exercise book, "The midterm exam is coming soon, and time is tight."
Those rows of wrong answers were too many; she couldn't even bear to look at them herself.
Inexplicably, she wanted to maintain her image in front of him.
Julian pulled out a chair and sat down: "Come over, I'll teach you."
Willow was surprised: "Uncle Julian, you know English?"
"Mm, I studied some when I was a child."
Julian's understated words left Willow somewhat skeptical.
As a result, three minutes later...
"Uncle Julian, are you sure you studied it when you were a child?"
The accuracy rate was too high.
He even knew all the obscure words.
"Mm, later I became interested in traditional Chinese medicine, so I went to study it," Julian quickly returned to the main topic, explaining to her patiently, "English multiple-choice questions can also make more use of the elimination method..."
Willow tried using the method he taught.
The accuracy rate really increased quite a bit.
This way she wouldn't need to worry about the exam.
With joy she turned her body sideways, hugging Julian: "Uncle Julian, you truly are amazing in every single way..."

CompletedChapter 66
Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 45
