"Forbidden Pulse: Don't, Uncle!" Chapter 65
Chapter 65: Elevating One's Status via a Child
Willow Avery spent the entire day in class with her heart in her throat.
Fortunately, nothing happened.
Because of this, she became even more certain that Luna Hayes was merely trying to scare her.
During evening practice, the girl standing next to her leaned in close.
"Willow, did you know that Luna Hayes dropped out of school?"
Willow shook her head.
Ever since Luna fell out with her a while ago, quite a few classmates in the class had been extremely cold toward her.
It was only recently that their relationships had smoothed over a bit.
"I heard her family is being targeted by someone." The girl clicked her tongue twice. "I used to think that since her family are jewelers, she could rely on them to become some big star in the future. Who would have expected they would suffer a decline in family fortune so quickly."
"But it's actually quite good. Before this, she deliberately formed cliques in the class to isolate you, so she counts as getting what she deserves."
As the girl spoke, she nudged Willow's shoulder. "Your family is quite decent too, do you have any inside information?"
"No."
Willow shook her head.
"Then my curiosity won't be satisfied." A look of regret appeared on the girl's face, but as if recalling something, she opened her mouth to say, "I saw Luna Hayes at an irregular pharmacy early this morning. She bought a packet of medicine, acting very mysterious."
"Irregular medicine?"
Willow thought of the scene when she ran into Luna this morning, and a bad premonition arose in her heart.
"Yeah, I went to that pharmacy when I was trying to be cheap; it's opened right around the corner." The girl speculated, "Could it be that because the Hayes family is struggling, she went to use medicine to sleep with some big shot? I heard the upper-class society is all like that."
Listening to this, Willow's breathing grew a bit erratic.
Luna buying medicine, could it be to harm someone?
Unable to care about the teacher watching them, she frantically grabbed the girl's hand. "Does that shop sell poison?"
Hearing her words, the girl froze for a moment before laughing. "What era is this already, still poison? Anyway, they do sell rat poison."
Rat poison could also kill people.
Just at this moment, the teacher announced the end of class.
Willow quickly ducked into the locker room, changed her clothes, and ran outward.
On the way, she called Sterling Kingston.
After confirming that he was at home busy with the birthday banquet, she quickly dialed Julian Kingston's phone.
After a long series of ringing, there was still no answer.
When she reached the outside of the school gate, the driver from the Kingston Estate hadn't arrived yet.
Unable to wait, she directly hailed a taxi to go toward the hospital where Julian was located.

Paying and getting out of the car, Willow ran straight into Adrian Cross.
"Little sister, why are you here?"
He was wearing casual clothes, clearly having already clocked off work.
"Doctor Cross," Willow saw him and asked hurriedly, "Where is my uncle? Has he clocked off too?"
"Yeah," Adrian said. "His injuries aren't fully healed yet, and he's an expert-level figure, so how could the hospital be willing to let him be exhausted? They let him clock off at three o'clock. But someone he knows came to look for him today, saying an elder in the family has an inconvenience moving around, and invited him over to take a look."
Willow: "Who is it?"
Adrian shook his head. "I don't know."
Julian's status was not simple, and there weren't many people who could have him go over to treat an illness.
The upper-class society focused most on privacy, so it was impossible for him to go out of his way to pry.
Anxious tears welled up in the depths of Willow's eyes. "Doctor Cross, can you take me to check the surveillance? Someone wants to harm Uncle Julian."
"No way, right?"
Adrian said instinctively, "With that status of his, who dares to touch him?"
"It's true," Willow couldn't wait, directly dragging him to walk into the hospital building. "A classmate said Luna Hayes bought strange medicine, maybe it's rat poison..."
The more Adrian listened, the more muddled he grew.
How did this matter get involved with that Luna Hayes again?
He asked Willow.
He finally managed to figure everything out.
Luna deliberately caused a car accident, harming Julian so that he was hospitalized. The Kingston family wouldn't let it drop, making things difficult for the Hayes family. Luna was unwilling to accept this, buying medicine to poison Julian to death.
This matter sounded like love turning into hatred. But using rat poison to poison a person... was a bit ridiculous.
"Um," Adrian looked at the pure Willow beside him and asked, "Have you ever thought of another possibility?"
While Willow stared at the surveillance, she replied to him, "What possibility?"
Adrian discovered that this university student who hadn't stepped out of the school gates was indeed quite pure. So he analyzed it for her earnestly:
"Luna poisoning Julian to death, what benefit does it have for her? She would still have to go to prison. If it were me, I would definitely give Julian some medicine, sleep with him ten or eight times, and directly elevate my status via a child."
Willow's eyes blinked for a moment, looking at him mechanically. "...Is that so?"
"Yeah," Adrian shrugged. "Anyway, Old Mr. Kingston is pressing hard for marriage, isn't he? If Luna truly ends up together with Julian, he would probably accept it too."
It was like this. Willow was at the Kingston Estate, so she naturally knew Sterling Kingston's thoughts best. He truly wanted Julian to get married.

"Oh my, Julian is so pitiful." Adrian unobtrusively added fuel to the fire. "It’s one thing to be calculated against by someone, but he still has to spend the rest of his life with the person who harmed him. Right now, who knows what kind of person can rescue him from this abyss of misery..."
The more Willow listened, the more uncomfortable she felt. Biting her teeth, she said, "I will definitely save Uncle Julian!"
"Good ambition!" Adrian pulled her to look at the surveillance. "This is the person, you send it to Sterling Kingston and have him check it out."
Willow snapped a picture with her phone and called the Kingston Estate again. Fearing the old master would worry too much, she only said this person stole her wallet.
...
Inside a five-star hotel in the suburbs.
Julian followed the bodyguards and entered a room.
He had treated this elder previously. A wealthy merchant from another city who came to seek his medical treatment due to his reputation. His illness was severe, and Julian suggested he stay in the city, waiting until one course of treatment's medication was finished before coming to look for him again. He hadn't expected that before the medicine was finished, the person suddenly had a bout of illness again. The bodyguards hurried to invite him, and Julian was worried about delaying saving a person, so he followed along.
"Doctor Kingston, the master is right inside, please."
The bodyguard pushed open the room door.
Julian walked inside, and the door behind him closed shut immediately. His gaze turned cold for a split second, and he lifted his feet to walk inward. Passing through a small living room, he only then reached the innermost bedroom. Heavy curtains blocked the light from outside. He raised his hand, turning on the lights.
Entering his sight was a massive bed covered entirely in rose petals. In the air, there was faintly a surge of fragrance. Julian immediately smelled that the incense possessed an aphrodisiac effect.
"Mr. Kingston..."
A delicate female voice traveled from behind him. "I’ve waited for you for a very long time. From the first time we met, I liked you so much, why did you refuse me? Try me, I know much more than Willow Avery..."
...
Twenty minutes later, the message from Sterling Kingston's side traveled over.
Looking at the picture on her phone, the blood in Willow's body almost froze.
He actually went to a hotel. They were all adults; what would happen was self-evident.
Adrian waved his hand in front of her eyes. "Little sister, what are you still waiting for? Hurry up and go save the person, though do you need me to prepare a blindfold for you? In case you see things you shouldn't see..."

CompletedChapter 66
Owned by the Devil
Rain hammered against the stone steps of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mia Clarke backed away instinctively. One step. Then another. Until the cold stone hit her spine and there was nowhere left to go. The convoy had arrived less than thirty seconds ago. Black SUV. Headlights flooding the churchyard. Men in dark suits moving with military precision. And in the middle of all of it— him. Damien Lancaster stepped out of the car like violence wearing a tailored coat. He was devastatingly beautiful. That was the worst part. His looks weren't safe; his charm wasn't human. He was beautiful the way a loaded gun was beautiful: cold, polished, lethal. The priest tried to shield her. Two men pulled him aside instantly. Damien never even looked at them. His eyes stayed locked on Mia the entire time. She felt a sick twist in her stomach—she realized he was furious. Not a loud fury. Not rage. Something quieter. Something infinitely worse. It was the silence of a decision already made. In that quiet, he had already decided the fate of everyone here. “Mia.” Her name left his mouth softly. Almost gently. It frightened her more than a shout ever could. She turned to run. He caught her before she cleared the last step. One hand clamped around her wrist. The other dragged her hard against his chest. No hesitation. No softness. He smelled like rain, menthol smoke, and expensive whiskey. “Mia,” he repeated near her ear, his voice low enough that only she could hear it, “did you really think you could disappear from me?” She pushed against his chest with everything she had. “Let go of me.” That finally made him smile. Slowly. Beautifully. Wrong. “You vanished for eleven days,” he said quietly. “I stopped sleeping on day three.” The church bells rang overhead. Nobody moved. His men didn't even dare to breathe. Damien lowered his head slightly, forehead nearly touching hers. And in that terrifyingly intimate moment— she understood something too late. This man was not trying to win her back. He already believed she belonged to him. Forever.Dark Humor|Mutual Pining|Plot Twist|Yandere|Instant Marriage|Possessive Love|Redemption Arc|Sweet Romance|HE73.7k words5 45
