"The Stand-In’s Redemption: Playing the Billionaire for Real" Chapter 21
Chapter 21: Are You Pregnant?
Behind her, Adrian Cross wanted to give chase, but he and Tiffany Rose were trapped together among the reporters, looking utterly humiliated.
Vivian Hale walked quickly out of the hotel.
Her heart felt completely light and liberated.
Adrian had always been arrogant; he probably never imagined a day like today, right?
As for her, she had finally seized absolute control over the situation, and it was the perfect opportunity to thoroughly liquidate all the assets in her hands.
Vivian calculated silently.
After their marriage, aside from the matrimonial villa, there were several other real estate properties. However, selling these assets required Adrian’s signature, which was why she hadn't touched them before.
Vivian took a deep breath. Leave these things to him? In his dreams.
This time, she was going to use this opportunity to dispose of all these real estate properties!
As for the rest, she only needed to wait at home.
Vivian put away her phone and returned to the villa, waiting for Adrian to come home for a showdown.
But this time, there was no trace of her past heartache. In its place was the confidence of someone who controlled the entire board.
The hour hand on the wall pointed to twelve o'clock.
The front door opened. Vivian turned her head to look and saw Adrian walking in.
The man's usually meticulous hair was a chaotic mess, his suit was heavily wrinkled, and his shirt was missing two buttons.
There was no longer a single trace of his former nobility—only pure wretchedness remained.
Their eyes met, and Vivian made her eyes turn red right on cue.
"You're back? Let's talk."
For the first time, Adrian completely lost his footing and rushed forward to grab her hand.
"Wife, it's not what you think! I was originally waiting for you alone at the hotel tonight. While pouring the red wine, I accidentally stained my clothes, so I asked Tiffany to bring a replacement. I never expected you would appear at such a coincidental moment!"
Hearing his clumsy explanation, Vivian found it nothing short of ironic, but her voice took on a tearful quality.
"If your suit was stained, you could have just changed. What was Tiffany doing lying on the bed?"
Everyone had seen that perfectly clearly just now.
Adrian’s gaze, however, remained earnest: "She had a bit of a fever when she arrived. Seeing that she was unwell, I told her to lie down and rest for a while. I was just about to tell you we should switch rooms when you arrived."
He hurriedly pulled out his phone and thrust it in front of Vivian.
"If you don't believe me, look at the booking records. They all have timestamps."
Vivian lowered her gaze and looked at the forged evidence he had prepared.
In the past, Adrian would never have bothered to explain things to her like this, much less go to such trouble.

It seemed that this time, he was truly desperate.
Vivian let out a mocking laugh in her heart.
Although she thoroughly enjoyed watching the scum writhe in agony, she also knew when to quit while she was ahead.
She stopped pressing him, lifting a pair of watery eyes to look at the man before her.
"Honey... I actually still believe you. Since you've explained it clearly, let's leave it at that! But those photos of you two will definitely be published by the reporters. Tomorrow, the company's stock price will surely plummet. It's all my fault for being impulsive and not listening to your explanation at the time. What should we do now?"
Hearing this, Adrian felt somewhat guilty after all, forcing a strained smile onto his face.
"How can I blame you? You were just acting out of deep concern."
Looking at him like this, the depths of Vivian's eyes were filled with a glaring coldness.
Perhaps the boy she met in the garden during their youth had died long ago.
She braced her emotions, doing her best to play out the scene.
Then, she spoke with utmost caution, "I just remembered, it's not like there's no way out at all. Maybe the company can turn this crisis into an opportunity!"
Adrian’s eyes lit up instantly upon hearing this. "What is it?"
Vivian’s eyes sparkled brightly, "There's an ACG industry summit coming up soon. I heard that all the industry tycoons and investors will be there. Doesn't Tiffany happen to have a relevant patent in her hands? Honey, you should take her there to make an appearance. Just like with God’s Island before, leak some information ahead of schedule. That might just save a bit of the company's stock price!"
Adrian listened, secretly pondering the feasibility of this method.
If Tiffany’s new patent could be showcased this time, it would first generate momentum for the company, and second, they could use the opportunity to clear the air. They could claim that the reason they appeared at the hotel was entirely to discuss this script matter.
A dark gleit flashed through his eyes; he was clearly swayed.
Seeing his silence, Vivian guessed exactly what he was thinking.
Her jade-white hand gently stroked the man's chest, making her voice sound exceptionally soft and alluring, "Don't worry, Honey. When the time comes, I will cooperate with you regarding the public relations. We'll just say that all three of us were actually at the hotel that day. Right now, the company is what matters most."
Adrian’s heart trembled.
Sure enough, he agreed.
Vivian continued to press her advantage.
"However, even so, the company's current situation must be difficult, right? It would be best if the liquid capital could keep up. It just so happens that we have several real estate properties from before, which are our joint property. Since the prices are good right now, I'm willing to bring them all out for the company's turnover. If you trust me, I'll handle it for you so you can focus entirely on the company's affairs."
She spoke with earnest sincerity. Furthermore, since those were martial assets, she was giving up even her own half; how could Adrian refuse? The current situation of the company was indeed quite tricky.
He agreed on the spot, and in order to expedite the process, he immediately had someone draw up an authorization contract right then and there.
Only after finishing everything did Adrian look at Vivian’s submissive little face before him, his emotions surging.
As expected, this woman was absolutely devoted to him.
He lifted his head, his thumb gently stroking Vivian’s cheek.
"Baby, you are so obedient..."
The emotional arousal in his words was impossible to ignore.
Watching his handsome face draw closer and closer, Vivian suppressed the feeling of nausea rising in her chest and hurriedly laughed coyly to avoid him.
"Honey, not today."
Adrian’s brows knit together, a sea of desire churning in his eyes, but he still asked, "Why?"
Vivian lowered her head, her hand gently resting on her lower abdomen.
"When I was in Sanya, I constantly felt unwell and kept wanting to vomit. I originally thought it was a stomach issue, but when I went to the hospital for an examination, guess what?"
Adrian’s body suddenly went rigid.
He looked at Vivian’s expression, which was filled with shyness, looking just like a newlywed maiden.
Suddenly, as if he had realized something, a wave of extreme fury instantly enveloped his heart. Without even thinking, Adrian blurted out.
"Vivian Hale, are you pregnant?!"
An instant of absolute silence fell over the villa.
