"The Stand-In’s Redemption: Playing the Billionaire for Real" Chapter 44
Chapter 44: Green-Lighting Himself
Inside the flat apartment, a sudden wave of shouting drifted up from the corridor.
Right after, the doorbell was rung continuously, Tiffany Rose's voice sharp and piercing.
"Open the door! Miss Hale, I have something to discuss with you!"
Vivian Hale exchanged a look with the man, "Remember to cooperate a bit in a moment."
"Alright."
The man's voice was low, carrying an inexplicably doting flavor for some reason.
He still didn't ask a single question.
It gave people an absolute illusion that she could play along and cause a scene however she pleased.
Vivian pressed her lips together, suppressing the strange emotion in her heart, and went to open the apartment door.
In the very next second.
Tiffany stormed inside, bringing along a crowd of paparazzi brandishing cameras.
Her gaze caught sight of the tall man standing not far away with his back turned to them, wearing a pure white shirt. It was as though she had grasped the absolute greatest leverage, instantly looking exceptionally aggrieved.
"Miss Hale, I initially thought I had mistaken what I saw before, but you are actually acting as a pair with a man. You are the wife of Mr. Cross after all, yet you are actually maintaining a wild man on the outside! No wonder you made such a fuss to divorce Adrian, so this was your actual objective after all?!"
"Then back at the hotel, did you intentionally set a trap for us to cause others to misunderstand? How could your duplicity be this venomous?"
"Adrian's company is currently experiencing a severe crisis, yet you abandon him without a single backward glance. Don't people always say that a single day as husband and wife means a hundred days of grace? What you are doing is simply far too excessive!"
Vivian curled her lips into a smile. This woman’s capability to turn around and bite back was truly honed to perfection, wiping her own identity as a mistress completely clean.
Only, she didn't know if today's development would turn out exactly as she desired.
Meanwhile, the paparazzi clicked their flashlights non-stop, and nasty comments flooded out of their mouths.
"Who would have thought that the wife of Mr. Cross played around this wildly, seeking out such a young boy toy. With this tall, slender silhouette, could it be a male university student?"
"They claimed before that Mr. Cross committed infidelity, but it's highly likely she was the one who committed infidelity first. Wanting to split more of the assets, she manufactured those words on purpose?!"
"This is simply far too shameless."
"Vivian Hale, what other explanations do you possess right now?"
Hearing this, Vivian feigned a trace of absolute shock.
"What on earth are you talking about? What infidelity, what male university student? This is glaringly Adrian Cross."
The exact millisecond her words fell, the man turned his head over, revealing a face that was strikingly identical to Adrian's.

Witnessing this scene, Tiffany was frozen on the spot.
This... how could this possibly be?
Adrian had glaringly arrived together with her, and he hadn't even come upstairs yet.
Then who on earth was the man before her eyes?
Why did he look exactly identical to Adrian Cross?
Vivian tilted her head slightly, gazing at Tiffany with total incomprehension.
"Miss Rose, I don't quite understand. Why did you storm into my house with a band of reporters early in the morning? I haven't even settled scores with you over your seduction of Adrian yet..."
"But my husband came over to seek me out just now, claiming that everything was a complete misunderstanding and that he wishes to start over with me. We are currently discussing these matters, what on earth does this have to do with infidelity?"
She spoke with total openness.
Yet the entire venue plunged into a dead pocket of absolute silence.
Adrian was a step behind the group.
The apartment was in total disarray, and he couldn't see very clearly, only discerning a tall man standing right by the kitchen entrance.
A sudden surge of blood rushed straight to his brain, feeling as though a vast green pasture had grown over the top of his head.
Vivian truly betrayed him. This time, he was going to use this opportunity to demand back their marital assets shared between them!!
Otherwise, where a man's dignity was concerned, he absolutely never would have permitted Tiffany to bring so many reporters over.
Thinking of this, he strode inside, opening his mouth at the top of his lungs.
"Vivian Hale, I loved you so absolutely, yet this is how you treat me?"
But the moment these words were uttered, he failed to witness any trace of a guilty conscience or intense shame across Vivian’s face.
On the contrary, Vivian appeared to have caught sight of something horrifying, her complexion turning pale in a split second.
Her trembling hand pointed straight toward him.
"Who are you? Why do you look exactly identical to my husband! Which of you two is actually my husband?"
At this moment, Adrian directed his vision toward the kitchen.
The exact millisecond he clearly discerned that person's appearance, his face drained of all color, and his vision swam into complete darkness.
Never in his wildest dreams did he expect that Vivian’s so-called secret lover was actually Silas Vance!
Within his cognition, it was completely impossible for her to know about the stand-in arrangement. Therefore, after Vivian coldly rejected him, he hadn't linked the two together in his mind at all.
Realizing that the situation had completely shattered past his expectations, a heavily ominous premonition struck him, making him wish he could turn on his heel to depart on the spot.
Meanwhile, Silas lowered his eyes, his voice deep and baritone.
"You discovered it? My apologies, I didn't intend to deceive you. It was Adrian Cross who instructed me to disguise myself as him to accompany your side in his place, and his objective was to mask the fact that he committed infidelity with a mistress."

Adrian was too late to even stop him.
His words entered everyone's ears with crystal clarity.
Leaving the crowd thoroughly shocked, bewildered, and ecstatic.
Adrian’s face was deathly dark, on the verge of driving himself completely mad from rage.
"He is spewing complete slander! I did no such thing, it was glaringly he himself who harbored devious intentions to approach my wife, utilizing me as a shield!"
Under the current circumstances, he naturally couldn't admit to it.
The exact millisecond he admitted to this kind of matter, his reputation would be completely ruined.
Silas, however, had long since anticipated this, shaking his head with a hollow sigh.
"Little brother, that wasn't what you said to me back then. Wanting to turn around and bite back even when matters have reached this point—fortunately, I preserved the evidence ahead of schedule."
As he spoke, he pulled out his phone, pulling up several text messages he had preserved in advance.
The content clearly mentioned the absolute fact that Adrian had asked him to masquerade as himself.
His sarcastic words completely plugged Adrian's very last avenue of retreat, leaving him entirely speechless.
Standing to one side, Vivian recoiled two steps in absolute shock, "So from the very beginning to the absolute end, you were deceiving me? I originally forgave your infidelity with Tiffany Rose, thinking that the two of us shared so much affection, and I even regretted it after divorcing you, pondering whether to give you another chance."
"Yet you are actually this revolting, going as far as finding someone to masquerade as yourself just to come home and keep me company? Adrian Cross, are you even a man? How could you execute such a wretched thing?"
As though suddenly discovering her husband's hideous true face, Vivian appeared entirely unable to accept it, burying her face in her hands as tears fell cascading down, sobbing and wailing.
In reality, an intense wave of surprise was still rippling through her heart.
If she hadn't looked incorrectly just now, Adrian had also addressed this mysterious man as big brother in the text messages.
So, the two of them were twin brothers?
Was this his true identity after all?
But she had known Adrian since childhood, and the Cross family had uniquely claimed to the outside world that they only possessed a single son...
Was there some hidden secret in the middle of this that she remained entirely unaware of?
The paparazzi, however, possessed zero clues regarding the thoughts in her mind, looking at her painful wailing and feeling a trace of reluctance to see it continue.
Furthermore, this constituted a earth-shattering piece of gossip; if it was exposed to the world, they would instantly become famous.
So what if Tiffany had given them money?
It couldn't even match a fraction of the lucrative revenue brought by the explosive impact of this news piece.
Therefore, within a single moment, every single one of the paparazzi completely turned their coats.
"Mr. Cross, so not only did you commit infidelity first, but you even had your big brother act as a stand-in. Don't you find yourself incredibly despicable and shameless!"
"As a husband, how could you execute this kind of thing? Are you worthy of your wife?"
"Miss Rose, you knew perfectly well that Mr. Cross was a married man, yet why did you insist on staying together with him, even wanting to slander another person's wife? Don't you find yourself incredibly shameless!"
