"Rejected by the Alpha" Chapter 9
I am using every last bit of control I have to not snap this doctor’s neck. I am healing as quickly as I can.. the silver is reaching his bloodstream and I keep pulling it back. I have only been able to remove half so far and this fucker hasn’t removed either bullet.. hence the reason I don’t have the silver under control. Gritting my teeth I say “Get the fucking bullets out Now! The silver is spreading because you haven’t even tried” He stops.. standing up and says “ma’am.. all due respect.. I can’t remove the bullets until I have him stabilized..” I snarled “I am stabilizing him as we go.. just get the bullets out” and this motherfucker has the gonads to tell me he has the medical degree not me. I roundhouse kick his ass into the hall and scream at Blake to get me two surgical nurses and keep that cocksucker away from me and out of the operating room.
Within seconds the surgical nurses were there and I told one of them where to make the incision.. and had the other one hanging plasma and fluids.. I finally got the bullets out.. and was pulling the silver to me when his heart stopped the first time. I reached in his chest and massaged it to start it again. I pulled more silver to me.. eliminating it and his heart stopped again so I massaged his heart while I pulled the rest of the silver from his body.
His heart started back and I watched his vitals all come up to where they should be and I felt like I could finally take a breath. The nurses both started cleaning him up and one of them patted my shoulder “We got him.. why don’t you let the family know how he is, honey” I nodded and thanked them. As I stepped into the corridor, I heard the doctor that I kicked telling Blake not to get his hopes up.. in injuries of this nature the chances of survival are less than five percent. I stormed up to them “MotherFucker! How fucking dare you come out here and tell that man’s family he is going to die! Had you stayed in there he would have most certainly died! Take your fucking medical degree and shove it up your ass.. you incompetent piece of shit! You have not one ounce of compassion or empathy.. not only for your patients but for their families! You are lucky I don’t rip your fucking head off and spit down your neck!”
“Blake! Mrs. Landon… Mr. Landon is going to be fine. I have him in a medically induced coma for the next 24 hours. If you do not mind.. I would like to stay here and monitor him. His heart stopped twice.. because your doctor couldn’t move fast enough to remove the bullets.. therefore, the silver I was removing wasn’t enough to compensate for the amount being released. But… I assure you.. he will be fine! My gift comes from our Goddess. Not a degree. And the Goddess assured me I did it right.”

Mrs. Landon flew at me and held me close as she sobbed.. and I pulled her pain into my body so she could gain control. Dalton led her to her husband’s room and I turned back to Blake.. “Please have a bed put in his room for her? The mate bond will go a long way toward healing them both. I would like to check Dalton over one more time.. just to make sure he’s healing correctly” and he wrapped his arms around me.. pulling me in close “Thank you! Just…. Thank you!” And I hugged him back.. nodding. Leaning my head on his chest, he was rubbing his hands up and down my arms.. I smelled the warmest scent of leather and fresh pine..then I felt them.. sparks.. up and down my arms.. “Blake? Do you feel this? Am I losing my mind? Tell me I am tired .. my imagination has run wild.. I lost my mind? What the fuck is happening? Blake?” He was looking down at me and smiling “What is happening is every prayer I have ever prayed.. every wish I have ever made.. every dream I ever dreamed is coming true.. and my second chance is you!” And I busted out laughing “That was the corniest shit I have ever heard.. and I loved every second of it! So it must be what’s happening!” He laughed with me and hugged me tighter and said you smell like homemade apple pie!
I said “actually I smell like blood and sweat.. with an underlying stink of fried food. Is there somewhere I can shower and maybe one of yoir shirts.. until Alice can get here with my overnight bag and the baby.”
We were walking back so I could get a shower and my phone rang. I groaned! “It’s my dad. Fuck! I will have to call him back. I’m tired.. and pissy. Not conducive to decent conversation with me.” He pulled me into his arms and asked “Do you accept me?” I nodded “I do! I accept you!”
He took my hand and said “Then come sit.. I want to talk to you! My cousin is the Alpha King.. my father and his father are brothers. They have been invited to the ascension of your ex-mate and brother. If you want to go.. to get closure.. we will go. But! We will not go unless we are fully mated and marked! There will never be any room for doubt where you stand with me! You and Matthew will always be my number one priorities! I will kill anyone who tries to hurt you.. take you..from me! In such a short time.. you have become my whole world. The love I have for you goes far beyond a mate bond. You owned my heart.. before my soul was involved!”
I smiled “I fell in love with you when I got the note apologizing for your skank of a mate. And it has grown stronger every day! I knew I was a goner the day my baby snuggled in your arms and slept. He doesn’t sleep, Blake. That was the first nap he had taken in months! And he was so peaceful. I love you!”
He leaned into me and lightly brushed my lips with his. Then pulled me tight against him and moved his lips more firmly against mine. Licking my lower lip. He opened my lips with his tongue and dipped inside to taste me.. it was a one of a kind first kiss.. and the memory of it would remain with me the rest of my life.
He lead me to his room.. offering to help me wash the blood off.. ever the gentleman.. yeah.. no. He laid towels out and hung his bathrobe on the door for me to wear after. He said he would be downstairs fixing me a snack and wait for Alice and the baby!
I scrubbed and shampooed.. and rinsed and repeated.. and felt so much better. I had to jump three times to get the robe off the hook.. and realized I was famished!
I left the room and tripped my way down the stairs until I reached the bottom step … stepping down I went to walk and tripped over the robe that was dragging the floor and yelled “Blake”.. he and Dalton walked through the kitchen door to see me trying to hold the robe around me and up enough to not trip again… while Dalton started howling with laughter “Bro! Your robe ate your mate!!!”
