"Rejected by the Alpha" Chapter 10
Blake’s POV~
.
I scooped her up and carried her into the kitchen.. sitting her on the stool, I slid a turkey sandwich over to her and put a bag of chips in the center of the island. I asked what she wanted to drink and my girl wanted a beer! How awesome is she!!?
We heard the doorbell and Dalton went to get it. Alice walked in.. kissing Jolene on the cheek.. saying she couldn’t stay and Dalton took the baby, so Jo could finish her snack. Matthew kept reaching grabby hands at me, so we all told Alice bye and I took Matthew. Jolene checked Dalton over and said he was feeling great. Just a little tired.
Jo grabbed her overnight bag and pulled leggings and a hoodie out she stepped into the pantry to get dressed.. which struck my ass funny! She came bouncing out and grabbed Matthew playing kissy face and he reached for me again.. this time saying “DaDaDaDa” and my eyes teared up! I whispered “Even he knew! He’s mine, Jolene. Odin has claimed him. He is bouncing in my head saying ‘Pup’ over and over. He’s our baby boy. No one will ever hurt either of you again!”
She leans over and whispers “I love you.” And I grinned “I have an awesome idea! Let’s go the the hospital and check on Dad.. his name is Edward by the way… and Helen, my mother.. will be thrilled to know we are second chance mates” She busted out laughing and snarks “ If she has a stroke.. I will be hard pressed to save her! I’m kidding.. you know that right? I forgave her when I walked away. She had just figured out the Luna that the Moon Goddess had decided to give you was the whore of the century.. that’s a lot!”
We walk to the hospital.. hand in hand, Matthew is in my arms.. with his little head on my shoulder and his little arm wrapped around my neck. This. My family. This is everything I didn’t know I needed! Thank Goddess for second chances! Jolene asked “What’s going to happen when JakeOff realizes Matthew is his biological son? He can’t take him.. can he? My maternal grandfather said he would… that I had no right to my own baby because he is Jacob’s heir.. I’m so worried.”
I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her to me.. “I legally adopt him.. give him my name.. we change his birth certificate by two months? My cousin is the King! We will figure this out!” She nods, as we step into Dad’s room.
She immediately walks over and checks him over… she looks at me and says “I am going to bring him out of this coma. … I thought he would need a day to recover, but he’s stronger than I gave him credit for. Helen.. will you hold onto his hand.. he needs to know you are fine when he wakes. It was his greatest fear when I was working on him”

I watch as my father starts stirring realizing we nearly lost him. Had it not been for the beautiful angel beside him now.. I would have lost both my parents today. And for that.. that succubus will die! By my hand! My father’s hoarse voice says “Helen!” She hugs him and tells him she’s fine and she’s here. He looks around the room.. smiling when his eyes land on Jolene..reaching his hand to her, she took it and he pulled her close for a hug and says “My Angel” His eyes reach mine and he gruffly says “Bring me my grandson” and in that moment…. we became family!
We left my parents to sleep and went to my office to make some calls.. Jolene made a makeshift hammock in the corner for the baby and she climbed in my lap to order furniture for him and Dalton came in “The guards are ready to quit. The banshee hasn’t shut her mouth.” Jolene looks at me asks “Can I go shoot her?” I did a double take.. what? Did I hear that right? Was that random or specific? “Are you serious?” And Dalton laughed.. “I think you broke him.”
She sighed and said “Logically.. the bitch is going to die. She killed your father. Just because he’s alive now, doesn’t mean he didn’t die. So.. she killed him! In an extremely painful way! The silver would have entered his bloodstream… it would have systematically taken out all his platelets .. his corpuscles would have rotted.. white cell count accelerated, his blood would blacken and burn every organ in his body until it poured from every orifice he has. Very painful! And not fast.. hours. hourssss of agonozing pain. All from a silver bullet. So.. can I shoot her?”
“My little vindictive empathic healer.. you are quite bloodthirsty. As well as a walking contradiction! But! Fuck Yeah! Let’s shoot the bitch!” And Dalton laughed “Y’all are definitely a match made in hell!” I shrugged…”She was just asking.. It would be a very painful way to go. I have to call Damien about it.. since I was there when all this started. And with her being an Alpha’s daughter.. it would be better if the monarchy handled it. And I know they would generally leave the decision to the governor.. but we are considered immediate family of the King. I will send an email to the governor..just in case. Covering all our bases is never a bad thing!”
We decided to get some rest since Jolene knew Matthew would be up early..and she wanted to make sure my dad was okay. I want to introduce her to the pack tomorrow, as well. We haven’t spoken about her moving here.. I can’t move to her house because it’s on Smoky Moon territory.
She lay in my arms and said “I am going to talk to Alice in the morning. I want to give her the option of staying in the house, or coming here. She’s Matthew’s caregiver when I’m not available, and we trust her. But, ultimately, it is her decision. I’m not sure if she will want to give up her lone wolf status. And, then, there’s the restaurant. I definitely want to keep cooking.. but maybe we can find comparable chefs to work there. I know it’s generally difficult to handle all Luna duties and work outside the pack, as well. Then, there’s Matthew.. I want him to continue time in daycare. The interaction with other pups is vital.. even if his vocabulary takes a hit.”
I smiled into the dark “Baby.. we will work through it all. We have a daycare here.. you can stay with the restaurant while you look for a chef to meet your standards.. and still supervise the running of it. I would never ask you to give it up. Alice will always be a welcome addition here. This was her pack before Edgar died. And as far as your house goes.. we can keep it as a getaway when we need quiet time.. or you can sell it. It’s your life, baby. I only want to live in it” I kissed her and I couldn’t stop…we made out for hours. When we went over the edge of sleep, our souls connected as we drifted off.
