"Rejected by the Alpha" Chapter 27
I have been feeling a little under the weather.. getting dizzy in the mornings.. The smell of sausage cooking makes me nauseous. I’m almost positive I’m pregnant, so I am heading to the infirmary with Matthew to get a test. It’s not the best time.. but I shouldn’t be surprised. Blake and I make love two or three times a day. And we’ve never used protection. All we can do is pray the Goddess looks out for us!
Blake links me 🐺
Baby..are you okay? Odin is feeling something through the bond..and Frost keeps yipping in my head..
🐺
maybe you’d like to meet us at the infirmary?
🐺
Are you ill? What’s going on? Is Matthew okay?
🐺
Just come join us, my love!
He comes crashing through the doors before I’m back from peeing on the stick and checking Matthew for injury..which apparently tickles, because Matthew is giggling like mad! Then he stands and grabs me..breathing deeply into the crook of my neck. I tell him to relax and hand him the test.. saying “We should know..in about a minute now.” He looks at the test in his hand.. then he rests his other hand on my stomach…asking “We’re going to be parents again?” I shrug in a maybe and He grins from ear to ear.
The test is positive..and the doc says “Luna.. let’s do an ultrasound and see if we can figure out how far along you are” I lay down and he gelled the wand..warning of the cold..he began pressing and moving against my belly. He stopped a couple times..never saying a word. I could feel Blake’s anxiety.. while Matthew was perfectly calm. I said “Are you curious to see your little brother or sister, Matthew?” He shook his head telling us “Frost say my sisters are safe. He shieldeded them.” And Blake’s mouth dropped open while I stuttered out “Doctor? How many babies are you seeing?” He looks at me..and back to the screen and says “What?” “Oh yes! Two… I was just making sure that is all. Two little ones, Luna!” And Blake whooped so loud, he startled the nurses at the front desk!
Blake was what could only be described as being on cloud nine! He called his parents. He called Damien and Lynette. He called a pack meeting. Then he called Mike and Janie.. and my dad and Alice.. even though I had already called them. He kept asking me if I was okay..hungry.. warm enough.. tired.. wanting to give me a foot rub.. pushing a pillow behind my back.. rubbing my tummy.. it was amusing. Until it wasn’t. I was trying not to get annoyed.. I knew he would be like this all the way through. And after going through my first pregnancy alone.. this was new. For both of us!

Matthew climbed onto Blake’s lap.. “Daddy, you no worry. Frost say sisters safe. Granma knows and her tell Frost them okay!” Blake looks down at Matthew and asks “Frost talks to the Goddess, baby?” And Mattie nods “Ever night before we sleeps. She tells him stuff. And what we needs to do. Like last night she told him proteck the sisters. So we did” And I look at Blake.. thinking he looked as dumbfounded as I felt. The Goddess is definitely looking out for her grandchildren.
Marshal joined us in the war room, where he had been watching the trail cams around Jacob’s pack.. He smirked “Ghost made it inside River Run.. leaving a note under the first two sheets of toilet paper in Tyler’s bathroom. When I laughed about it, he told me no one ever checks a toilet paper roll for information” I laughed “That’s pretty fucking clever! Now, let’s hope he doesn’t go to Jacob with it! How soon will we know anything?”
Blake replied “Ghost and his team are out of sight..watching to see if Tyler approaches the designated meeting spot.. We will monitor the trail cams for any signs of a trap and alert Ghost to not bother trying an extraction.” I grinned.. then laughed asking “Not your first rodeo, Cowboy?” He grins and shakes his head “Damien, Liam and I were always sneaking out..doing stupid shit boys do.. and one night we decided to break Dalton out to come with us..So we waited and watched. His dad didn’t trust him for shit! But he trusted us even less. We finally got Dalton’s attention.. tossing rocks didn’t work..because he’s dumb as fuck! So Liam volunteered to sneak through his window..while Damien and I stood watch. Long story short..we finally convinced him to join us. We had decided to take him cow tipping. Figured he would be better at that than he was at snipe hunting.. another story..for another time… anyway.. we get to the pasture.. and Damien Liam and I each tipped a cow..showing Dalton how it’s done. He chose his cow..and we didn’t say shit.. just let him run..full bore..at his cow to tip it. And he tipped..but the cow didn’t move.. instead it spun on its hooves.. launched itself at Dalton.. caught his shorts with its horns and flung him straight into the air. The boy flew at least 50 feet! And all we could do was stand and watch. Laughing our asses off. Dalton landed about five feet from us.. bruised, bloody..and completely naked.! He had tried to tip the biggest fucking bull in the pasture..and his shorts were hanging from the bull’s horns.. right over his eyes! Funniest shit in the world! Moral is…never tip bulls! Only cows!”
We were all laughing hysterically and the others walked in.. Dalton asked what was funny and Marsh replied “Bull tipping” causing Dalton to growl “Mother Fuckers!” And we laughed harder!
Blake told Toby he wanted a cell cleaned completely. Scrubbed and sanitized. Twin bed.. table and chair with a TV. I asked why and he responded “I will not allow Tyler to walk freely around the pack until I am sure he can be trusted. He is my enemy until he proves himself. So he will be locked in the cells. But, because of your dad.. I won’t allow him to be uncomfortable, either!” I kissed him. He really is a good man! And a great Alpha! I’m so lucky!
Alice came to take Matthew for his nap. Which he was ready for..as evidenced by his and Dalton’s arguments. Dalton kept taking Matthew’s little green army men as prisoners of war..while Matthew is explaining why he can’t just pick them up and put them in his pocket. That’s not war. That’s stealing. Dalton tells him that makes them his hostages.. again with Matthew explaining it doesn’t work like that.. because Dalton didn’t win a battle, he just took them. And that makes him a ‘fief’.. then we hear “Daddyyyy.. make Dalton stoppp! Or beat his ass!” And Blake slaps his forehead… “Dalton! Why do you aggravate him?” And Dalton laughs “It’s fun! He argues like a 60 year old man! Well.. until he whines to you!”
I ask “and where did he learn the phrase “Beat his ass”? Hmm?” Dalton started shaking his head and Angie says “That one is my fault! Blame Marty” And we all started laughing.
