"Rejected by the Alpha" Chapter 31
It’s been several days and we got word at four this morning that Jacob was on the move..and would be within striking distance at dark. Damien has sent for 400 of his warriors and he left Liam in charge at the kingdom. It’s a precaution, in case the 800 warriors Jacob has amassed split somewhere along the way.
Blake and Damien are dispersing warriors away from our traps. Our she-wolf warriors are in tree stands with blinds. I packed them dinner..and plenty of snacks. The archers have detonator heads on their arrows.. Marshal and Marty had planted powder kegs in various areas that our archers will fire on. The snipers have flashbang grenades to throw.. it will blind the wolves temporarily and gives the snipers the opportunity to take them out.
We are as ready as we’re going to get and I’m proud of our pack! They have rallied behind their Alpha and not one has doubted his capabilities! As nightfall approaches, we can hear the wolves running our way. As the first line hits the trenches that were dug, we hear the howls of pain.. and the line halts.. Jacob switches direction.. which we expected and compensated for. The next line to charge were blown apart by the powder kegs..or shot by the archers. And again, Jacob tries to regroup and change direction..this time, the snipers threw flashbang and dropped the blinded wolves. Then all hell broke loose..Jacob was losing control of his troops.. they were deserting him right and left. The ones that were fighting…were dying. Blake and Damien were ripping through them.. until there were less than a hundred left and they knelt on the ground with hands behind their heads in surrender. Jacob and John stood on the hill and Blake and I stood beside Damien and Lynette . We watched as a beautiful woman stepped up between John and Jacob.. .. She let out a cackle and said “Give me the child and you will live.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Lynette said “The child is the grandson of our Mother Moon! She would not take kindly to you even thinking of him.. much less trying to take him! Tell us Morgana. What is your goal? What was your plan? You manipulated the mate bond between Jacob and Jolene. Between Blake and Crystal. Did you think Selene would let that slide? A Goddess blessed bond cannot be altered.. not without the permission of Selene herself! What was your endgame?
You need a pure heart! You had that..all along.. She is standing right here. Right beside me. She has been a Goddess chosen.. even before you tried to manipulate the bond! You are blinded by your greed! What a pathetic sorceress you have turned out to be!” I asked Lynette what the fuck she was doing.. you’re going to piss that psycho off! And she laughed telling me we have to get her to cross the wards.

Blake taunts Jacob.. “So, Jacob, you threw away a pure heart.. who would have strengthened you..strengthened your pack! Instead, you once again let Daddy control you and choose a mate for you! Does he wipe your ass when you take a shit, too? Tie your shoes? Lay out your outfits at night..so you match every day?” And Damien burst out laughing.. “Damn, bro! Your daddy does all that? Shame your pack goes to Blake by default! Should have thought all this shit through before you threw your little temper tantrum!”
Jacob and John both roared and charged at Blake. He calmly stepped to one side.. tripping Jacob and beheading John. At the same time. He spun and kicked Jacob in the gut and dropped into defensive stance. Jacob lunged and threw himself at Blake to punch him, and ended being slammed in the solar plexus. Blake twisted to the side and kicked him in the spine…snapping Jacob’s back. When he hit the ground, Blake straddled him..pulling his head back… he looked at Morgana.. say goodbye to your golden boy, bitch! And sliced his throat from ear to ear. Morgana screamed and flew at Blake.
As soon as she crossed the wards..she froze in place. Lynette giggled and clapped her hands. “Now. Guess what’s going to happen! Come on! Guess! Don’t make me tell you!” It dawned on me! “I know! I know! Can I tell? Please! Let me tell her!” And Blake and Damien laughed.. “You two are really enjoying this!” And I asked “too much!? Let’s ask Mother Moon!”
Selene appeared beside us. She smirked “Morgana. Hecate will be here soon. Then, dear sister…you will go back where you belong. You have caused enough trouble and now.. your time in Earth’s realm has ended. You will never be free.. you should have just stuck to your simple enthralling to have men fall in love with you. But, you messed with my sacred wolves. You messed with their bonds. That was your final mistake!”
As she finished speaking, Hecate appeared. She kissed Lynette on the forehead, then flung her hands out and Morgana was wrapped in chains..she squirmed and screamed.. the more she squirmed..the tighter the chains bound her. Hecate said “Enjoy the chains of eternity. You are done.. no more roaming the seven realms. You will rot in your penitence!”
With that, the three women were gone! And Blake blinked.. “Rude! Not even a goodbye!”
Damien said “We have to get to River Run.. that pack needs to be disbanded.. and the people either have to come here.. or the kingdom! We start first thing in the morning!”
I smile..”It’s going to be a busy few months! Lynette and I are having a gala! The first annual Mating Gala.. So much to do..choosing the venue. Color theme.. menu.. music. What if we start holding one..every year again? The packs can take turns. We could hold a lottery.. with the packs that have the resources and desire to hold one..submitting their names. That way, it’s random and packs can’t get pissy about the rotation?”
Damien says “She really gets animated when her mind’s set on something “ with Blake responding “You have no idea! When she creates a new recipe, we all become taste testers. Everyone’s opinion is needed. She’ll chase you down.. with a spoon in her hand, holding whatever deliciousness it is she wants you to try.” Dalton scoffs “Deliciousness! Says you! She tries to poison me!” And Blake laughs asking “Why, Dalton? Why does she feed you lemon bitters..or ghost chili peppers..and limburger cheese?” Dalton mumbles “Because I teased her! And she holds a grudge! Heart of gold, my ass! She’s vindictive and mean!” Making Blake and Damien both laugh… “Telling her her vichyssoise tasted like cat vomit isn’t teasing, Dalton! Just because leeks aren’t a favorite..that’s what you should have said..”
And I laughed “At least, now..when you don’t like something.. I know the reason!”
