"Luna's Farewell: A Broken Love" Chapter 4
"Who’s to say otherwise? My wife lectures me every day, telling me to learn from you, but I’m just a straightforward man without Caleb's romantic genes!"
Listening to the jokes from his brothers, Caleb curled his lips slightly.
"You can't learn it. In this world, there will never be a second person who loves Luna as much as I do."
Facing the envious gazes coming from all directions, Luna felt absolutely nothing.
The entire night, Luna used the excuse of being cold to remain seated on the sofa.
She watched Caleb lean down to carefully straighten her hem; she watched him weave through the crowd with a glass of wine, accepting congratulations; she watched him return to her side every now and then to offer her delicious desserts...
Everything was no different from last year.
But only Luna knew that everything had changed.
At eight o'clock sharp, the banquet reached its climax.
A five-meter-tall castle cake was rolled out. Caleb took Luna’s hand and led her under the spotlight, presenting the gift he had prepared before thousands of onlookers.
It was a document.
Facing the guests' suspicions, Caleb announced loudly.
"The gift for our fourth anniversary this year is the seventy percent of He Group shares I hold. I am transferring them all to Luna. From today on, Luna is the true power-holder of the He Group. From now on, I am just a subordinate working for her."
Once these words were spoken, the entire hall erupted in an uproar.
No one had expected Caleb to go this far for Luna, and they didn't stop exclaiming.
"My god, is he leaving himself no leeway? That is too much love!"
"Mrs. Caleb must have saved a god in her past life to marry such a good husband in this one!"
Everyone envied Luna.
But she remained expressionless, decisively picking up the pen and signing the contract.
Only Caleb noticed that something was wrong with her.
Previously, whenever he gave her gifts, her face would be filled with sweet happiness; rarely did she display such indifference.
A flash of panic crossed his mind. Just as he was about to ask why she wasn't happy, or if the gift wasn't to her liking, Luna spoke first.
"It’s a bit stuffy. I'm going out for some air."
Chapter 6
Outside the venue was a massive fountain pool, surrounded by plum blossoms in full bloom.
Looking at the scorching flowers on the branches, Luna's suffocated heart felt a little relieved.
Tired of walking, she was just about to sit down and rest when she looked up and saw Sienna walking toward her.
Perhaps it was because the "surprise" Caleb had prepared this time completely broke her down, but Sienna had completely dropped the mask and stopped pretending.
"Luna, you heard the phone call I gave you last time, didn't you?"
"Since you heard it, why didn't you question him or leave, and instead stayed by Caleb's side? Yes, I admit the surprise Caleb prepared for you today is grand, but it’s nothing more than his guilty conscience at work! If he really loved you to death, he wouldn't even glance at me. Let me tell you, I’ve slept with him over a thousand times. Do you know what that number means? It means when you weren't looking, he was tangled with me every single moment."

"You were just lucky to meet him a few years earlier, what is there to be proud of?"
"One day, I will prove to you that both Caleb's body and heart will belong to me!"
Luna listened quietly. With no expression on her face, she turned to leave.
Sienna, completely broken down, grabbed her hand. "Luna, why don't we make a bet to see who Caleb cares about more? Do you dare?"
With that, Sienna acted like a madwoman, dragging her and jumping into the pool.
The winter water temperature was near freezing. Luna’s dress was complex and heavy; once it absorbed the water, it felt like lead dragging her downward.
She struggled desperately, but couldn't withstand the gravity, her body trembling uncontrollably.
Just as her strength was about to vanish, Caleb, who had rushed over, noticed the anomaly.
Seeing the two people splashing in the pool, his heart jolted, and he dove straight into the water.
Sienna, also frozen to the point of exhaustion, looked at the person swimming toward her and cried out, "Caleb!"
Caleb didn't pay her any mind. He screamed Luna’s name frantically, swimming toward her with all his might.
"Luna!"
He saved her and pulled her into his arms, clutching her shivering, hypothermic body tightly.
"Luna, wake up! Darling, don't scare me..."
He truly looked terrified; his eyes were red-rimmed, and he clutched her so tightly his voice was choked with sobs.
Not until the staff arrived with dry towels did Caleb begin trembling as he wiped the water off her, while ordering them to call an ambulance immediately.
Luna’s body was flushed red and purple from the cold, and her consciousness was fading.
Before she lost consciousness, the last thing she saw was Sienna, who had been saved by the security guards.
Her face was shifting between green and white, her eyes filled with tears.
It looked... rather ridiculous.
When she woke up, Luna realized she was in the hospital.
When the nurse saw she was awake, she chattered on while taking her temperature.
"Mrs. Caleb, you're finally awake. If you had slept for a few more hours, I'm afraid Mr. Caleb would have invited every doctor in the city here overnight."
"That’s right, we all said you were just too tired, but Mr. Caleb wouldn't believe it. He insisted that we give you a full body exam."
Luna didn't take the nurses' words to heart.
She propped up her weak body, wanting to sit up slowly.
Caleb, who had just returned, was ecstatic to see her awake. He pulled her into a hug, burying his head in her neck, his tone full of lingering fear.
"Luna, you finally woke up. Do you know you scared the life out of me?"
"If you didn't wake up, my life would be over, too."
Luna’s body stiffened for a moment. She didn't speak, just letting him hold her.

Until Caleb's phone rang.
He then reluctantly released her, picked up his phone, and took a look; his expression shifted slightly.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he planted a kiss on Luna’s forehead. "Luna, get some good rest. I’m going to go handle some work."
After hearing her mumble a soft "mm," Caleb hurried away.
Luna silently climbed out of bed and followed him without a sound.
She watched with her own eyes as Caleb went to the sixth floor and walked into a patient room next to the stairwell.
Through a gap in the curtains, Luna saw Sienna.
She was throwing a tantrum, throwing cups and fruit all over the floor.
Caleb walked in and pulled her into his arms, his tone tinged with impatience.
"What are you throwing a fit about now? I've told you countless times, I don't love you. I only have Luna in my heart. She encountered danger; of course, I have to save her."
"If you don't love me, why did you sleep with me so many times! If you don't love me, why did you rush over as soon as you got my call! Caleb, I hate you! Since you don't love me, fine, I won't love you anymore either. I’ll go find someone else."
At these words, Caleb's face changed instantly, and he grabbed her with a grim face. "You dare!"
Sienna didn't speak, just wiped her tears and cried even harder.
Looking at her tear-blurred appearance, Caleb sighed and finally surrendered, pulling her into his arms. "Alright, stop crying. This time it was my fault. Tell me what you want, and I’ll agree to everything, alright?"
Chapter 7
Sienna finally stopped sobbing. "Then I want you to promise me three things."
Caleb’s tone was cold, yet carried a hint of doting affection. "Fine, tell me."
"First, you aren't allowed to see Sister Luna for the next few days. You must stay with me the whole time."
"Fine."
"Second, I have a dance party in a few days. You must accompany me as my boyfriend!"
"Fine."
"Third, I want you to propose to me. I want you to put the diamond ring on my hand yourself and tell me you will love me forever."
At this, Caleb fell silent.
Sienna started crying again. "I’m not asking you for the real thing. I know you won't leave Sister Luna, but I just want the man I love most to propose to me once. Even if it's fake, is that too much to ask?"
Her tears shattered his last line of defense. After a long time, Luna heard his deep, doting voice resonate.
"Fine, I'll do whatever you say. Come, let me kiss you."
Before long, the two in the hospital room were kissing again, their lips and teeth entangled.
