"The Dilemma of a Bomb Disposal Specialist" Chapter 8
Seraphina returned home in a daze. As soon as she entered, she frantically searched the whole house for the document she had discarded that morning.
She rummaged through every trash can until she finally found it among the waste at the entrance.
Her hands trembled as she tore open the envelope. Seeing the bright red divorce certificate inside, she collapsed onto the floor.
"Silas, how could you really divorce me? Don't you want me anymore?"
Past sweetness felt like a poison-dipped blade, carving away at her very marrow.
Tears fell silently from the corners of her eyes. Seraphina felt as if her heart were being squeezed by a giant hand, leaving her unable to catch her breath.
Just then, she noticed a figure lingering in the corner and shouted coldly, "Who's there?"
The butler walked in, his face pale. "CEO, it’s me. There’s something I don't know whether I should tell you."
Seraphina looked at him with a heavy expression. "Speak."
The butler knelt down in front of Seraphina with a thud.
"CEO, back when you punished Mr. Silas by making him kneel in the ancestral hall, Young Master Caspian intentionally filled the prayer mat with thumb tacks, causing severe damage to Mr. Silas’s knees. He also ordered me to soak the whip in saltwater before whipping him, which is why Mr. Silas left in such despair."
Seraphina’s eyes were bloodshot, her hands clenched tightly together.
"What did you say? I specifically instructed you not to use lethal force back then—why did you listen to Caspian?"
The butler didn't dare move a muscle, terrified by Seraphina’s roar.
"Young Master Caspian threatened me with my son’s life; I didn't dare disobey him."
"I also overheard the young master on the phone—the graves of the little miss and Mr. Silas’s mother were deliberately dug up by people he hired, just to humiliate Mr. Silas."
Seraphina kicked a nearby table over, sending it crashing to the floor with a loud bang.
"Caspian, did you do all this?"
The butler shivered, but bit the bullet and continued.
"There’s one more thing. Regarding the fireworks Young Master Caspian had Mr. Silas set off—I once saw the young master have someone switch the fuses, intending for them to detonate immediately once lit."
Seraphina grabbed the butler’s collar viciously, nearly shrieking.
"Why are you only telling me these things now? Don't you know Silas has already left? He doesn't want me anymore?"
As she spoke, her assistant hurriedly pushed the door open and walked in.
"CEO, the whereabouts of that sarira relic have been tracked."
The assistant handed a file to Seraphina and spoke hesitantly.
"The relic was crafted by Young Master Caspian using Mr. Silas’s mother’s skull, and he also..."
Seeing Seraphina’s terrifying expression, the assistant didn't dare to finish the sentence.
Seraphina spoke through gritted teeth. "Keep going."
The assistant took a step back before daring to whisper, "Caspian originally intended to use the little master’s skull, but because the young master was blown to pieces and his skull was severely damaged, he used Mr. Silas’s mother’s instead."

"Also, the video of Mr. Silas’s mother was released on Caspian's orders to force Mr. Silas into a dead end."
With a bang, Seraphina slammed her fist onto the coffee table.
"Caspian!"
Chapter 17
It was already dark when Caspian walked out of the police station. As soon as he stepped out the gate, he saw Seraphina standing with her back to him, facing her car.
Caspian immediately rushed toward her with a smile.
"Sister, I knew you wouldn't leave me to fend for myself. You definitely came to take me home."
But before Caspian’s hand could touch the edge of Seraphina’s coat, it was pinned down by her bodyguards.
Seraphina turned slowly, looking at Caspian with a cold, piercing gaze.
"I bailed you out because I wanted to ask you myself—how exactly did Sophie die!"
Mentioning the child, a flicker of panic flashed in Caspian’s eyes, but he quickly masked it with an expression of innocence.
"Sister, I don't know what you're talking about. The police have investigated for days and haven't found any evidence to prove this has anything to do with me! Doesn't that prove my innocence?"
Seraphina gave a cold laugh and reached out, grabbing Caspian’s collar viciously.
"Whether you're innocent or not—we'll find out after we talk!"
With that, Seraphina waved a hand at her bodyguards. They immediately blindfolded Caspian and dragged him into the car.
When he opened his eyes again, Caspian found himself in front of the familiar abandoned factory. Seraphina sat on a stool, gazing at him like a queen.
Caspian’s hands were already bound. He looked in terror at the place where the explosion had occurred, his entire body trembling uncontrollably.
"Sister, the explosion really had nothing to do with me. I beg you, please let me go, okay?"
Seraphina moved toward Caspian step by step, reaching out to grip his chin tightly.
"It has nothing to do with you? Then why are you so afraid?"
Caspian’s tears fell in large droplets, making him look aggrieved and innocent.
"Sister, people died here; it’s too cursed, that’s why I’m afraid."
With a resounding "slap," Seraphina’s palm landed hard across Caspian’s face.
"Cursed?"
"The people who died here were your niece and your foster father—to you, that’s just 'cursed'?"
Caspian’s face swelled up instantly. He froze for a moment before hurriedly correcting himself.
"Sister, you misunderstood me. I just think this place is dirty, that’s all."
Seraphina felt sick watching Caspian still trying to argue. She kicked him away, letting him slam into a stone pillar.
"Caspian, you tampered with the fireworks, causing Silas to lose his color vision, which led to my father dying without rescue. You used Silas’s mother’s skull to make a relic, forcing him to the brink of despair. You bribed the butler to sabotage the ancestral hall discipline to make him lose hope in me and leave—you truly have a cruel set of methods!"

Caspian froze, his pupils constricting.
"How do you know about these things?"
Seraphina stepped hard on Caspian’s hand, her gaze fierce and devoid of emotion.
"The butler has told me everything you did. Caspian, the thing I regret most in this life is letting you stay in the Sterling family."
Excruciating pain shot through his hand. Caspian suddenly panicked, ignoring the pain and looking at Seraphina in near-supplication.
"Sister, I did all those things only because I loved you too much. I know you love me too, right?"
"Sister, I know you were worried Silas stood between us, so I drove him away. The only obstacle between us is gone; we can be together in peace from now on."
Seraphina lifted her foot and looked down at Caspian on the ground, grinding her foot into his face again, looking at him with disgust.
"Love? The only person I love is Silas. As for you, you are nothing to me."
Caspian froze, his expression gradually twisting, a mocking smirk appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Seraphina, stop being such a hypocrite. Do you dare to say you never suspected me for the things I did?"
Chapter 18
Seraphina paused for a moment, the pressure of her foot loosening slightly.
Caspian looked up at her with disdain.
"Seraphina, you are the true executioner who hurt Silas the most. You were the one who chose me, the one who caused Sophie's death, the one who forced Silas to set off the fireworks, and the one who made him accept the punishment. Seraphina, you are a hypocrite to the core."
Seraphina grabbed Caspian’s collar with force, her eyes bloodshot as she stared at him.
"Shut up."
"You don't understand how deep my love for Silas truly is."
Seraphina ripped the relic from Caspian’s neck and threw him away violently.
Caspian slammed into the wall, only then noticing that the corner of the room was piled high with fireworks. He looked at Seraphina in terror.
"Seraphina, what are you trying to do? I’m still a foster son of the Sterling family! If something happens to me, how could you bear to see Mom so sad?"
Seraphina swept a cold gaze across Caspian.
"I will have your name removed from the Sterling family registry. From today on, you have no relation to our family, and the Sterling family will reclaim every asset under your name."
The fear in Caspian’s eyes magnified as he crawled toward Seraphina, begging.
"Sister, I know I was wrong. Won't you let me go this one time?"
"I promise I’ll be obedient from now on, or I’ll go abroad—I’ll never appear in front of you again."
Seraphina looked at Caspian and sneered.
"You caused my daughter's death, destroyed Silas’s ability to distinguish colors, and left my father to die without rescue, and now you want me to let you go?"
As Seraphina spoke, she walked toward the door.
"Caspian, every pain Silas has suffered, I will make you pay back in full."
