"The Divorce Strike: I Withdrew 76 Million to Topple Them" Chapter 3

"Ms. Clara, Julian’s father is reaching out through a mediator, wanting to meet with Madame Evelyn."

"What did my mother say?"

"Madame Evelyn said that a meeting is possible, but only if Julian formally apologizes to you first."

I smiled.

"Will he?"

Patrick said: "Fu Medical has no other choice now."

At 3:00 PM, a message from Julian arrived.

"7:00 PM tonight, at the family mansion. The family will all be there. I will apologize to you."

I replied: "I choose the location."

He took half a minute to respond.

"Where do you want it?"

I sent: "The conference hall on the first floor of Fu Medical."

Soon, he replied: "Don't go too far."

I said: "You don't have to come."

Ten minutes later, he replied with a single word.

"Fine."

At 7:00 PM, I arrived at Fu Medical.

The conference hall was packed.

Julian’s father, his mother, his sister, and Mina were all there.

There were also a few senior executives from the company.

Julian stood at the very front.

When he saw me, his expression was sour.

His mother spoke first.

"Clara Shen, do you really have to bring family matters to the company?"

I stood at the entrance.

"Wasn't it you who said there would be an apology?"

His sister rolled her eyes.

"My brother is willing to apologize to you, so you should be content. Picking the location? Who do you think you are?"

I looked at her.

"Didn't your social media post say that I finally rolled out of your house?"

She was choked for words.

I took out my phone.

"Do you want me to read it out loud?"

His father said in a deep voice: "Sia, shut up."

She was unconvinced.

"Dad, she is doing this on purpose!"

His father looked at me, his tone lowered.

"Clara, this matter was Julian’s fault. Emotional problems between you young people shouldn't affect the cooperation between our two families."

I smiled.

"Chairman Fu, you are mistaken."

He frowned.

"What’s mistaken?"

"Julian and I don't have 'emotional problems'."

I looked at Julian.

"He committed adultery during our marriage."

The conference hall went silent.

Mina stood up immediately.

"Ms. Clara, please be responsible for what you say. Julian and I only grew closer after your relationship had already fallen apart."

I tapped my phone.

"This is a video you posted six months ago."

On the screen was the footage of her and Julian being photographed at a bar entrance.

That day was our third wedding anniversary. He had told me he was working overtime at the company.

Mina turned pale.

Julian frowned.

"Clara Shen, is there any point in digging up things like this?"

"Yes."

I placed my phone on the table.

"If there is going to be an apology, it should be clear."

His mother slapped the table.

"Do you expect Julian to kneel to you?"

I said: "No need for kneeling; he isn't qualified for that."

His sister was getting anxious.

"Who do you think you are!"

His father yelled at her: "Sia!"

Julian stared at me.

"Clara Shen, do you have to be this heartless?"

I looked at him.

"Julian, it was you who made our marriage heartless, not me."

In the hall, several executives exchanged glances.

His father finally spoke.

"Julian, apologize."

Julian clutched his divorce certificate, his face tense.

A few seconds later, he said in a low voice: "I'm sorry."

I asked: "Sorry for what?"

He gritted his teeth.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have neglected you during our marriage."

"And?"

"I shouldn't have let you suffer."

"And?"

His sister couldn't hold back.

"Clara Shen, that's enough!"

I said: "Julian, will you say it yourself, or should I play the recording?"

Julian looked at me sharply.

"You recorded me?"

I nodded calmly.

"For three years, every time your family humiliated me, I kept a record."

His mother’s face looked ugly.

Mina took half a step back.

His father immediately said: "Clara, there is no need to take it this far."

I looked at him.

"Chairman Fu, are you looking for an apology, or are you looking for a performance?"

He was silent.

Julian finally lowered his head.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been involved with Mina while we were married."

Mina panicked.

"Julian!"

He didn't look at her.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let my family treat you with contempt."

I asked: "Is that all?"

His voice was even lower.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have tried to conceal assets during our divorce."

Someone in the conference hall gasped.

His father’s hand pressed hard onto the table.

"Julian!"

Julian’s face turned ashen.

I picked up my bag.

"That is what an apology sounds like."

His father immediately asked: "Then, regarding Evergreen Capital..."

I interrupted him.

"Chairman Fu, I only accept apologies; I am not responsible for putting out fires."

His mother stood up.

"Are you playing us?"

I looked at her.

"I never said an apology would waive the debt."

His sister rushed over.

"Clara Shen, don't you leave!"

I dodged to the side.

At the door of the conference hall, Patrick walked in with two men.

"Ms. Fu, please mind your behavior."

When his father saw Patrick, his expression changed instantly.

"Lawyer Patrick."

Patrick placed a document on the table.

"Chairman Fu, this is the formal document from Evergreen Capital regarding the termination of our partnership. Please sign to acknowledge receipt."

His father looked at the document without moving his hand.

I turned and left.

From behind me came his mother’s angry voice.

"Clara Shen, you will regret this!"

I stopped.

"Mrs. Fu."

I turned back.

"As for regrets, I finished doing mine three years ago."

That night, his sister deleted her social media post.

But the screenshots had already spread.

In the internal Fu Medical group chat, someone posted the photos of Mina showing off.

The title was simple: "The company is facing a cash crunch, yet the boss’s son takes his whole family abroad to celebrate a divorce."

Lena messaged me.

"Chairman Fu was so angry he smashed a glass in public."

I replied: "No need to tell me these things."

Soon, she sent another message.

"One more thing. Mina has started a livestream."

I clicked in.

Mina sat in front of the camera, her eyes red.

"I don't want to explain too much. In matters of emotion, outsiders only ever see one side."

The comment section was full of sympathy.

She continued: "I never wanted to hurt anyone. Julian and Clara’s marriage had long been dead in all but name."

I watched her portray herself as an innocent victim.

She said: "Some people have money and power, so they can destroy other people's families with a single word. But I believe that kind people won't be bullied forever."

The number of viewers in the livestream increased.

People began to curse me.

"The ex-wife is too vicious."

"Using her power to target his company after the divorce?"

"Does having money mean you can do whatever you want?"

I turned off the livestream.

Five minutes later, Patrick called.

"Ms. Clara, Mina has directed the public opinion against you."

I said: "I saw it."

"Do you want me to handle it?"

"Not yet."

Patrick asked: "What are you planning to do?"

I opened Mina’s livestream again.

She was wiping the corner of her eyes.

"Fu Medical has a new product briefing tomorrow; she will probably go, right?"

Patrick said: "She will. She is attending as Julian’s girlfriend now, trying to stabilize their business partners."

I said: "Then tomorrow it is."

"Are you going to the scene?"

"Yes."

I looked at the hateful comments about me in the livestream.

Since she wants to pretend to be pitiful in public, I will tear down her stage in public as well.

The next day, I arrived at the Fu Medical new product briefing on time.

There were quite a few media personnel at the entrance.

Mina, dressed in a white dress, stood by Julian’s side.

As soon as she saw me, her expression changed instantly.

Julian said in a low voice: "What are you here for?"

I said: "To watch the show."

His sister rushed over.

"You are not welcome here!"

I asked: "Since when did the lobby of Fu Medical become your family's living room?"

She was choked for words.

Mina took a step forward.

"Ms. Clara, if you are looking for me, I can talk to you alone. Please don't affect Julian’s work."

She sounded very considerate.

The surrounding media had already raised their equipment.

I looked at her.

"You said in your livestream last night that I used money to bully you?"

Mina bit her lip.

"I was just expressing my feelings."

"Then let me express some facts."

I took out several photocopies of consumption records.

"These are the gifts you received while Julian and I were married. Bags, jewelry, watches, travel expenses—a total of 1.32 million."

Mina’s face turned pale.

Julian said sharply: "Clara Shen!"

I ignored him.

"Over 900,000 of that was common property during our marriage."
