Chapter 1: The Fallen General

Os veículos estacionaram em uma formação semi-circular perfeita, bloqueando qualquer rota de fuga do galpão abandonado.
A porta traseira do veículo principal abriu-se, e o som de sapatos de couro italiano estalando sobre a poça d'água fez os mercenários congelarem em respeito.
A aura avassaladora de um Alpha dominante inundou o ambiente, carregada com o perfume denso de madeira queimada e pólvora.

Rafe abriu a caixa, revelando um colar tático de titânio escuro, esculpido com travas eletrônicas e detalhes em ouro puro.
A visão do artefato de submissão acendeu o último vestígio de fúria militar no peito arruinado do ex-comandante.
"Você vai ter que rasgar a minha garganta para colocar essa aberração no meu pescoço," rosnou Kaelen, tentando se erguer das correntes.

Rafe passou os dedos pela ferida na bochecha, observando o próprio sangue na ponta dos dedos antes de levar a mão à boca e prová-lo devagar.
O olhar do chefe da máfia não carregava raiva ou surpresa, apenas uma delícia sádica e uma fascinação doentia pela ferocidade de Kaelen.
"Ainda tem garras, meu pequeno general," murmurou Rafe, segurando a nuca de Kaelen com uma força esmagadora que paralisou os movimentos do rival.
Com um estalo seco e metálico que ecoou pelo porto silencioso, Rafe trancou o colar de titânio ao redor do pescoço pálido do ex-comandante.

Kaelen sentiu a cabeça girar enquanto o teto do galpão parecia desmoronar sobre sua consciência, vitimado pelo esgotamento físico brutal.
